Aside from being big enough to be a weapon by itself, this thing is a great brake.
The amount of noise it makes didnt agree with my ears (which had earplugs that didnt do much)
Great Hokus, thank you very much for the update!
I still have a couple of questions, though. Other than the dust issue, when compared to the NEA Heavy Brake, did you notice a difference in recoil reduction? Muzzle flip? Noise? Gas thrown at your face?
Thanks.
When you run out of ammo you can throw it at the enemy and knock them out..![]()
Put it in a sock and you'd have a formidable weapon!
It's been a little while since I shot the Heavy Brake, but I would say that the recoil reduction is roughly the same, muzzle flip was reduced by quite a bit and the noise is only slightly less. Meaning, this thing is loud to those shooting next to you. Not sure if the only reason muzzle flip is reduced so much is because this Brake is one big mofo, or gas venting is improved. I didn't notice as much gas being kicked directly backward at me, although another shooter who put some rounds through it commented on feeling some gas coming back.
I think I was most impressed with the reduction in recoil and muzzle flip, although it does add noticable weight to the front end of the rifle.
So--The Crusader brake reduces muzzle flip better than the heavy brake, if I'm reading this correctly--right? Sorry-I'm a little slow today--heart meds are a nuisance........
I would say that it does, but like I wrote above, it's been a while since I've shot with the heavy brake. Could be the multiple layers of clothes I was wearing last Saturday, as it was -9 when I started shooting and it dropped to -15 in 2 hours.
For all reasonable purposes, I'd say the difference is negligible. Either brake is very functional.
