NEA Non-Restricted Rifle? "NEA25"

Wouldn't it be nice if a few canadian manufacturers created a nr black rifle and all built the same rifle with interchangeable specs. That would benefit canadian shooters!

Well I guess 223, then 762x39, why not have a 308 blow up in your face, next will be a 50bmg then a 20mm.

keep on blowing things up till someone loses half their face

All animosity aside, I would love to be able to afford a Modern Hunter but I can't. I've even been into the ATRS shop to fondle it a couple of times and most recently I held the Modern Varminter. They are beautiful rigs but I CANNOT afford them. The MV, in its lowest cost configuration, is $3300. I'd have to empty my safe and divorce my wife to be able to own one.

If NEA comes out with a semi-auto 308 for $1500 I will be in the market for one in a heartbeat. I know it not the best but it is the best I can afford.

They've been working on this for a long time...and working on the NR certificate for a long time. I know it's been a ton of work for them but I also know they've had some pretty positive feedback from the lab.

If they pull off the NR certificate, they're going to sell a metric ####ton of them, that's for sure. But I also have a hard time trusting the lab, for obvious reasons, even though NEA's argument is sound and there's no reason on paper the lab shouldn't go for it.

Hard to tell whether the lab is slow-rolling it on purpose, or not. They've certainly had the information for a good long while now.

At that price, it will definitely be affordable to most here. Hopefully NEA has learned from its previous errors and produces something that will surpass expectations.

Same boat, love the MH, and MV but until I find that place in the US take will pay $35,000 for a testicle, NEA will be on my buy list if it passes.

As said before. ATRS sells a minute amount of rifles in comparison to NEA. Their quality can be better. It will be better. Are you getting a product that is 3.5x better?....maybe....maybe not. We will have to see.

The way they are posting about this rifle on Facebook makes me think it must be close to finalized frt#?? Anyhow at $1499 I will have one, nice looking rifle. It would be nice to see some groupings from NEA.

The rcmp recently alluded to the ar10 being not regulated like the ar15, when publishing their legal opinion on the akdal 1919 reclassification.

In short, they admit that the ar10, which predates the ar15, is not restricted by name like the ar15.

Nea has been pushing this angle apparently with the lab with this gun. Rumour has it they have a convincing arguement.

If the ar10 is recognized as any other rifle classification wise, why would any one by a proprietary rifle?

That rifle looks a lot like an ar10. If they copied anything, it would be that, not the MH. Especially given they have been designing this since before the MH became public knowledge.

IF NEA convinces the RCMP to make the AR10 non restricted, wow.

If NEA can convince the RCMP of a reclassification, I think a lot of the peopke that bash NEA should send a thanks. I will be, if they do. There's always a chance..
