NEA Non-Restricted Rifle? "NEA25"

Slow down. Re read the thread and see the parts about what the rcmp has said lately, and the potential for where that could go.

I'm seeing the potential as well, as soon as I read the wording when they classified the shotgun. Here's to hope, and my hats off to NEA if they're actually putting in the footwork to get it done.

It blurs the lines for sure of what we are accustomed to from the lab. Nea says this is an all new design, but with two take down pins, and the pictures, it's hard to tell what they have changed.

Maybe it is all new, or maybe they've done enough to keep it more of an ar10 design than an ar15 design, which was all the difference with the akdal reclassification push.

NEA is junk advertised as the greatest rifles on earth sold for middle class prices. ATRS is top notch advertised as top notch and sold for top notch prices...

If I had to give my money it would be to NEA. Just as I would never buy a Ferrari, I would rather mod a civic and kick the pony's ass just to show it money isn't everything..

I fear NEA as competition about as much as Ferrari fears Lada. 2 completely different markets and totally different demands for quality.

When they 1st started to make an AR15 clone that was less than 50% of what our basic AT15 sold for, we did not feel any impact as some folks value high quality over being the cheapest.

So ATRS is the Ferarri of fireaems while NEA is Lada?

You just admit that NEA is junk and then say you would give your money to them.. That's backassward.

There is no need for disparaging remarks. They both have their own market each at opposite end of the spectrum....there is of course some overlap but largely separate. We all benefit from it.

I'm sorry if I offended anyone. Junk might be a strong word. Let's say lower tier? Better?

That and ATRS is more like the Lexus, Cadillacs and Porsches.....there is still the higher end supercars out there.

Last I heard, the NEA25 received a conditional NR FRT (not posted) and required one last inspection before being issued the final NR FRT #. If everything goes as discussed, the final FRT should be issued in the next couple of months.

I guess there is always that concern, with the Libs now in power, that anything can change but all indications are this will be a very big win for the Canadian firearms community.
