As for my thoughts on this thread in general, a lot of you are very missinformed and/or complete morons. Also, nice to see Rick is still an arogant blow-hard.

Amazing.

4 questions:

1 Are you guys serious?

2 You are actually biatching about what another man chooses to wear at Costco?

3 The fack is wrong with you?

4 Do you still have testicles? Last time i checked women were the ones biatching about what other women wear!

You joke, but range fashion is serious business. I once showed up at the range wearing the same 5.11 pants as another guy, the stare down quickly escalated to a full on duel to the death. Lucky for me, someone noticed his Multicam hat was Condor and he died of embarrassment before we exchanged gunfire. It was a close call!

Lol, finally some normal human beings... I had no idea this thread would be such a disaster. Lots of sensitive men out there apparently. Not trying to insult, just an observation, wouldn't want to hurt someone's feelings..This thread has apparently been about people discussing their feelings since page 1...

Were you born without feelings or did you have to train yourself to become stoic? ;)

Sorry Phil but that's a cliché. Some things ARE simply overpriced. Not everyone is a 'sour grapes' pauper. Those who 'can afford it' are often simply racking up a credit card. That's the measure of success?
Sorry I tried to word my post as not an absolute specific criticism of all people who complain about "overpriced" things. My comment was with respect to a statement criticising the MH from ATRS for being over priced(I guess I should had quoted that post). I was trying to place some context around the development and manufacture of that rifle. When I visit the Perrazzi booth at SHOT and see the four matched shotgun set for just under $400,000 I think about how wonderful it would be to personally rationalize and afford such a set however the word "over priced" does not cross my thoughts however I did hear a few attendees say those exact words without I'm sure ever having put one of those works of art to their shoulder. In the end it's the buyer who slaps down their credit card who ultimately confirm or not if the item is worth the price. Action is easier to measure than inaction. Phil.

Thanks god

You may have saved this from becoming a fashion thread :)

I find that generally when people complain about some high end product not being worth the money and that people would be crazy to buy it...often the real reason is they can't afford it so it is easier to bad mouth the product (that they likely never have tried or used) than accept the fact that it is out of their price range (sour grapes come to mind). So many experts who have no idea about research and development costs and actual production expenses (raw material, manufacturing equipment and trained qualified craftsmen to do the work) are quite prepared to share their unsubstantiated opinions (like me as well) about what something is worth. If the statement made were more to the point of it being out of their budget/price range then I would find that more honest. Phil.

Cognitive dissonance.

I had to look up that definition as I wasn't sure what that was. I'm still not sure that was directed at me personally or the people I was describing. Phil.

It was not directed to you. It was what you were describing when people have conflicting cognitions. Can't afford an expensive rifle, it must not be worth it.

More often then not it would be Can't "justify" a particular expensive rifle, it must not be worth it. Most people will be able to afford it IF it is something they truly want. :)

I could not afford a MV , or so I thought. But I couldn't afford to keep buying less expensive rifles that don't live up to my expectations.(SU16/ Jard48/Xcr/ etc.). So I found a way to afford the MV , hoping that for what it cost , it should meet my expectations. (Under 1 MOA and reliable) and be similar to an AR. Yet to be unproven, but for 5 K , I sure hope so. If your willing to pay $1500 for an NR AR10 then you shouldn't expect too much. Regards to if its $1500 or $5000 , it's only money and you can't take it with you, so enjoy it while you can:)
