Thanks and you are absolutely correct even the lowest cheek riser would be to high I'm thinking of buying one for when I remove the scope and install the flip up sights though.

Need a sling now any recommendations I'm looking at the Magpul Multi sling?

With the 6.8 SPC upper installed when I put the rifle on my finger just in front and touching the front of the mag/mag well the rifle balances perfectly did the same with the factory stock as well.

In other words I do not find it front heavy at all with either stock... it actually balances so perfectly for me that I was surprised at the actual weight of the rifle when I finally got around to weighing it last week.

AR sights a 1.5" high I believe. Your scope center is lower than that?
We had a thread here 2 weeks ago on slings. I said I like the SpecterGear 3-points for hunting, available OD green. 3-points gives you lots of carry and support positions. OneShotTactical had a sale on green BlueForce slings, highly regarded.

...and what's the weight of your setup?
With the same barrel contour, .223 barrels are probably many oz heavier.

I have a complete upper in 223 as well when installed without a loaded mag = 9.9lbs with a Leupold Vari X 11 4-12X40mm scope.

The 6.8 upper = 9.6lbs without a mag.

I can hardly tell the difference if I hold the rifle in exactly the same way the 223 upper will start to pivot downwards in the front but now that I have the adjustable CTR stock I could length the stock one notch and set the scope back 1 or 2 notches on the rail and it would balance perfectly again.

I'll check out that sling...

edit to add pic 223 upper is mounted... :D

Is it NEA that talked about an XCR stock adaptor for ACR stock?
Any news on this?

No it was us.

We have it designed, and working prototypes off the machine. It's stalled out because of machine space and other priorities. Frankly the XCR is too small of a market, and has too many QC issues for us to take this on right now. We have to prioritize what we need and in what order and the XCR is WAY down on the list.

We said we'd run with it, but when we do it'll likely only be a one time lot and very small unit run (maybe 50 max).

Can we reserve/pre-order it?

I understand your point on QC, it was weird to see the height variation with the other adaptors.

In the US there would certainly be a big market for your ACR stock adaptor...
