From NEA's Facebook

Keep in mind that NEA's opinion on what the FRT will be is only an opinion. Like everyone here I hope that this rifle get a NR FRT too. I mean maybe they are trying to do more than change minds of the RCMP. Maybe this NEA ar102 is a totally different configuration like the modern hunter and therfor not compatible with AR10 uppers and lowers. One can hope

I hope so. It would be nice if there was cheaper modern hunter "style" rifle available. And keep in mind that we are also all assuming that anything with an NEA badge will be cheap because no one will pay for an expensive NEA

Yes! $1500 ish hell yes what can I sell to pay for it. $2500 ish yawn...

They said on their FB it would retail about $1500

I'm sure it would sell fast for that price.

Last thing I want is a gun built to meet a price point, $1500 for a decent quality rifle is not very much.

Didn't say forget.

Just move on.

Yet we keep seeing posts asking why there is a general dislike of NEA?

I only bring this up because I would rather have the info available so I can make my own decision based on what is presented. If no one posts it, it's censored/deleted, then you don't have all the information.

I propose an alternative solution. If you don't like it then don't read it. In this case, that's exactly what I do. I'm already familiar with the background so I glance over those posts and go to the ones I am interested in.

I wouldnt mind a cheap nea25 when the 102 goes NR hint* less than 1000* because i shoot at range only.

Umm no thanks. Even an el cheapo DPMS LR308 gen1 is in the $1500 range these days. You're shooting 308 not 223. Everything costs more. Also I would want accuracy. So a decent barrel. $1500 is an excellent price point for a 308 and gives one hope that it will have some decent components.

I wouldn't mind the components much, when the 223 version becomes NR, I'd try my best to change out everything to US brand name parts to make it as baby-killing-evil as possible

They're going for a non restricted status based on their 308 version being an AR10 based on the original AR10 which predates the AR15 design. IE so it can't be a variant. In otherwords there is no way the AR15 version would be non restricted. That would require the removal of the Order in Council (OIC) which lists the AR15 and variants as restricted by name.
