If I'm not mistaken that's a gun range so yes you could have it in your car like that.

While I do completely agree with you on that the PAR (not that I'm even remotely interested in it) is still half the price then most black non restricteds offered.
Perhaps the nea102 will beg to differ with me now
 
1/2 the price half the fun... lol.

NEA will shake things up a bit thats for sure. Heck Im even thinking of buying this bargain basement rifle to try it out.

To me it just shows how little choices we have in the tactical/adaptable 308 rifle caliber. You want a 308 you can hunt with? You can have a bolt action in almost any brand you want, but want a 308 and semi auto and you got what? Benelli r1 in convention configuration at $1000+, norinco m305 at $500+ but you need to tune them and add op rod spring guide and a scope mount and your almost at $800 with a unprecise boat anchor, you got the fnar at almost $2000, that is precise, heavy and has $120 mags, xcr the new lighter version seems great but with tax your looking at almost $3000 and the RFB ( my go to hunting rifle) that is fairly light compare to most other, short but is a 1.5-3 moa gun at best and north of 2500. And yes tge MH that is well on another level of pricing.

So at the talk about price point it would take a giant bite of the market! And if its around 7.5-8 pound could be an amazing hunting rig!
 
Yeah. There is a market for a light weight, non expensive (800-1500 CDN) black rifle in .308. Right now the only things in that range are the PAR and I suppose a norc m14 thats been lightened as much as possible and even thats pushing it in the weight category.
 
And the ultimate irony after all these years is that it's NEA who actually gets it.
They get what the people want. A simple, generic, non restricted black rifle for the masses within affordable price range.
Took how many years for someone to do this?!
Then for the love of god NEA, if it goes NR and it's under the $1300 mark, hammer out a .223 Rem version and lead the slaves to freedom! :rockOn:

Sadly they already made it clear they have no intent for a 5.56 rifle.i guess it's too similar to their AR's
 
The original AR10 (and AR102) were the predecessors to the AR 15, which was a scaled down AR10.

The NEA102 is a variant of a gun that came before the AR15 hence why it isn't bound by the AR15 variant Order in Council which would make it restricted. Can't be a variant of something that comes later.

If you scaled down the AR102 to 223, you'd be repeating the past and making an AR15 again. Like they did originally.

See the problem? That is why they aren't doing it.

.308 works for me anyhow.
I wonder if it will be possible to get a lightweight conventional AR10 barrel to mount to it. Are they using standard AR10 style nut/barrel system?
Obviously the receivers, bolt, probably the FCG are proprietary. But the buffer tube, pistol grip etc all seem to be standard AR type.
Would love to get a lightweight .308 barrel with a standard gas block, A2 style stock and FH on that thing. Been looking for a place to mount my Carry Handle rear sight :D
 
The FA is one large rabbit hole. If you have a PAL, one has to learn to navigate it if they want to play the game.

In that regard, they shouldn't be proprietary. It should be a match to the original AR10 design. So only as proprietary as the original armalite rifles were.


Of course intimate details of the rifle aren't well know yet. Will be fun to get one and see what one can do.
