The one gun/calibre fits all rule gets tried here by firearms licensing every now and again, every time someone spouts off to the shooting press about why his .308 is the be all and end all for stalking and no one else needs any other cartridge I just fume, I select a tool from a large tool box for all the different situations that I encounter as a guide. If the pratt that subscribes to this theory puts his address up you can guarantee its a London one, someone who buys his stalking and can afford to pass up on deer or certain seasons because they dont suit him then fine, the rest of us mechanics will get a different spanner out of the toolbox and tighten that nut!
the licensing boys got wind of us using .243 on foxes (small over here) and declared that we shpouldnt be having them for that, Our organisation said fine and got us all extra centrefire .22 to cover the small game gap that miraculously appeared.
