I must admit, when I scanned through this thread, I expected the usual "attack of the bolt gunners" type responses.
There are a few, but things seem to have moderated. Maybe you guys are finding out that other actions do work, that bolt guns are not the end all and be all of the rifle world.
Sure, there are POS examples, like the 7400. But, there are also, inexpensive little gems like the 7600, and the '94 Winchester. Lever action bolt guns like the BLR and the 88 Winchester. And stuff that just plain works like the 99 Savage. The Benelli R1 is a fascinating example of a semi that works. I'd love to try one, even if I generally don't care for semi's.
Go try them, you might get a big surprise, and you might have to get a bigger gun safe.
