I just started reloading for the spring, and press is currently set up for 9mm

Just finished reload 3k+ of my pet load 9mm LRN w/124 grain .356 LRN OAL 1.110" and 4.8 grains of CFE Pistol.

Looking through my supplies I found a bucket of Cactus Plains .355 LRN, and wondering what effect it would be if I used the same charge and OAL. I know the 1 grain is not much effect, but the .355 concerns me in case it may cause the bullets to tumble. The lube is a bit old, so I'm guessing the bullets are at least 10 years old.

I know plated/Jacketed its fine at .355, and most my LRN are .356/.357.

Opinions?

I wouldn't be asking, but due to work, I won't be able to get to the range for a bit.

Thanks in advance.

see what they actually measure out to first, but regardless i would try a few of them (i would keep the load data the same if your not at max or above) and see how they shoot. unless you have a really loose barrel they should be good to go. keep an eye on lead build up if any.

I measured them out at .355. Oldschool lead was always .355 back in the day so I don't think there will be a problem.

I should have something that can shoot them regardless.

I loaded 50 just to see. didn't want to reset the press if it works.

From what I gather the old guideline of having your cast bullets sized .001 over the bore diameter was to ensure enough bite for the rifling. I could be mistake, or hallucinating.....

I'd try a few (50 works) and see how they work. If they meet your standards of accuracy / function, go for it.
