One of this group of guys had his leg chewed on by a grizz a few years back ... he was sitting on a stump calling moose at the edge of a cut block, and what he got was a grizz out of nowhere. His father-in-law was not far away, lucky for him. It's a long story, but he was choppered out, and the others in the group got the grizz and her two cubs later on, with the C/O's help.
I think that's the main reason these guys all shoot bigger cals than 308 or 30-06 now. He still goes up there every year for his moose!
For me, like I said, I'll be on a quad most of the time, so I can pack a 12g along for a little insurance if I think I need some.
