Need an IPSC production gun - a little conflicted

I got a Shadow and love it. Other than oversized external safety.
However, that seems to be personal preference, as I don't hear anyone else complaining about it.

If Shadowline is already, or will be approved for production, that would be an excellent choice as well.

"All dual tone models, Shadow Line variants of approved models, and approved models with OFM coloured frames, are also approved."

On my god...those tanfo extreme models look amazing...

I sense a deposit going to freedom ventures very soon

oh no, most people dislike the safety and immediately swap it for a flush one

Looking for a cz75 sp01 shadow line...seems impossible to find. Though I can find the cz75 shadow line....
The only difference I know between the two is the tac rail

there are a couple differences. the frame, although similar is different, obviously missing the rail, and then the slide is shape different as well.. the 75 has a narrower opening for the barrel which means thinner barrel profile.
so the slides and barrels are NOT interchangeable between the 75- shadow line and the sp-01 (and line)

ive got the 75-shadow line and i got it for my black badge, the triggers on the lines are very nice.. i want a sp-01 line as well, but ive got other things i want to get first....i want something in a 40sw before i get another 9mm.

you may want to try one before you buy it, you have to draw with hammer down.

My production class is sig226 tacops 40. S&W. night sights that stand out, built in magwell & no external safety to operate. I'll take any advantage i can get

Failing to understand how the external safeties on a Shadow are a disadvantage as you don't actually use them in Production.

Agreed. I'm half tempted to install the DAO plugs on my Grand Powers just for the clean flat side. If it's not a decent thumb shelf in the right spot, than it's just a speed bump.

We almost never use a safety in production. I do like how I can put my thumb on top of the safety as I'm shooting to hold it into my hand, especially for one handed shooting.

+1

Like others, I use the thumb safety as a thumb rest. The only time I've used the safety is during times when I did not intend to use it.

Having a safety is not really a problem for most people, and if you are looking at using it for three gun stuff then most of those matches you can start single action with the safety on.
The stock II Extreme is looking pretty sweet there, I may have to look into it a bit more...

ohhh, those exist? /makes a note. excellent feature

shadow/tanfoglio safeties arent as high as the ones on a 1911 so even if you have a mildly high grip your support hand can/will hit them and it just feels like crap. and if you have a grip as high as rob then even a 1911 safety isnt high enough
