Found by a relative cleaning out grandma's house.

No name.
No serial #
only 3 proof marks

#1 a letter K with a star on top
#2 letters E , L , G in a circle on the cylinder
#3 and the letters HR stamped on the exit end of the cylinder.

The gun is double action and works great.
Loads like a single action and has a ram to eject cases.

Looks to be a 38 cal.

its close to a Nagant 1895 style or early type varriant

here are the pics.

From what I can find on a search, It might be Belgium dating to about the 1870's. The lack of a top strap would also indicate
that it is going back to the mid to late 1800's.

I also found one posting where they said that E L G in a circle indicated Belgium.

Good luck as it appears to be in very nice condition & might be worth something.

The LEG proof mark is Belgium. That's about all I know. I really do like the look of those late 19th century European revolvers though.

ELG with a star in a circle is definitely a Belgian proof from the mid-19th century. The letter with the star over it is an inspector's mark, also, most likely Belgian. They used initials and didn't publish the actual names of the inspectors. I don't know about the HR, but someone with more antique experience may. The Belgians manufactured a lot of guns without any maker's mark. Yours appears more like one of the pinfires that the Belgians made in great quantity, although clearly it isn't a pinfire. Looks like it, though. The gun appears very nice. If it's been in your family for a time, why not just keep it?

MYSTERY REVOLVER:
It is NOT a pin-fire, if it was there would cut-outs for the pin of each cartridge....

It would appear you have a Rast Gasser Revolver....
You did not mention caliber, if 11.25x36 then it is likely the Austrian 1870
Later models for Austria being in 8mm....

Very often encountered in Eastern Europe, Serbia, Montenegro in particular....
BTW, they are fun to shoot, black powder only.

Having no further useful information to provide to this thread that what has already been stated here, I just want to chime in and say what a cool looling old wheelgun she is. Ah, only if she could talk, eh? Cool part is, that in all likelihood she's a guaranteed 'antique' and such requires no papers whatsoever. You can't get cooler than that...
