In the UK we used to used 2Z 9mm in Sterlings and HI Powers, then they started issuing "pistol ammo" for the HP's, so it was a concern. I was repeatedly warned never to use the 2Z in my alloy frame S&W 6906.
So I wouldn't use Sterling loads in anything that wasn't solidly built.
I'm sure there is a firearm safety rule about not using loads much hotter than the manufacturer's spec, but your gun, your hands/eyeballs.
NATO spec doesn't mean safe in any pistol.
