Félicitations!

Let us know how you like it when you get to test it out a little more. Like I stated earlier I am considering the S&W and the Ruger also. Thanks.
It was the weekend of the gunshow in Longueuil. I did not go, I went to my gun club instead. I was in the washroom before lunch when one of the guys arrived from the show. I asked him how it was and if saw any 6" SS .357 at the show. He then said he had a Ruger GP100 in SS on consignment for sale at $350.
I almost peed on his leg!

I reached into my pocket with my free hand and gave him a $50 deposit. He did the transfer and I am awaiting the papwerwork from the CFO.
I ran 100 .38SPL thru it yesterday and about 40 .357Mag. All it needed was 2 clicks of windage and it was dead on bullseye @ 7 & 20 yds. The finish doesn't have one scratch on it. Looks like it just came out of the box, although the serial number says it was made in 1988! Judging from the shape its in, the original owner hardly fired it.
Although the stock grips look good, they are not pleasant with hot loads. The gun tends to flip up (duhhh) and you have to reposition your grip after each shot. I ordered a set of Hogue grips with finger grooves last night.
I have Hogues on all my pistols and I love them, gives a soft secure grip on the firearm.
I also ordered a set of Wilson Combat Springs (reduced load) to lighten up the trigger pull a bit. The trigger is suprisingly smooth as it is, but is no where near my buddies Python which has like 2 1/2lbs pull.
Mine looks exactly like this one:

The above link brings up a different subject; a NEW Ruger KGP-161 (FULL shroud) sells for $625.00 + taxes. How can someone value a used version at $650? As well, the 1/2 shroud model (KGP-160) was no longer made after 2003, so the gun is at least 4 years old!
Personally, I lucked out at $350...
the street value for this gun should be somewhere around $450-$500 IMHO.
I am sure that I will enjoy my purchase for years to come. Best of luck in finding yourself a "bargain" be it Ruger or S&W.
