Hi --
So I need some feedback from those that know more than me. I have a nice Russian (Tula -- 1950, laminated stock) SKS.
My goal is to be able to target shoot out to 150 yds, and possibly hunt at the same range. My eyes are not up to doing this with iron sights, so I want to mount a scope. After studying the sticky and other sources, I am considering the following:
1) Choate or Weaver Converta mount
2) Nikon 2x7 Prostaff Shotgun scope
Am I going to have a problem with ejected cases hitting the scope? If so, do the "case deflectors" that are available for the SKS work?
Any other suggestions for a low cost yet decent scope, particularly one that is shorter than the Nikon (11")?
Thanks in advance for all input.
