Need to double that pile before the election, for support against a BAN.

It was indeed a through test done by two collectors of very high end pistols down south. Both have a very sweet and quite large collection of handguns that a majority of us would dream of.

The German P210 Super Target wasn't a part of the test and the one taking the crown was a newer gen Sig Sauer X-Five Classic mounted with an Aimpoint T-2. That's a bit cheating when compared to straight irons pistols though.

The two P210's tested were a Swiss P210-5 (extended slide & barrel with the heavy frame) and a newer (dash 9) German Legend Target with the 5" barrel.

To summarize the results of all pistols tested @ 25y:

Best 25 Yard Groups

Sig Sauer X-Five Classic with Aimpoint T-2 0.893
CZ 75 Tactical Sport 1.029
Sig Hämmerli P240 1.299
S&W 3566 1.381
Sig Arms P210-5 HF 1.622
S&W 5906 PPC9 6″ 1.628
Pardini GT45-II 1.796
Sig Sauer P210 Legend Target 1.829
Benelli MP3S 2.07
Glock 17L Gen 3 2.155 (Tom S. aka Yuns)
Glock 17L Gen 3 2.77 (Brian C. aka bac 1023)
Beretta 92 Combat 3.422

Graham, here's the actual article on pistol tests you're referring to:

https://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2016/10/12/exclusive-testing-worlds-accurate-pistols-part/

If you feel like owning the real deal of a Swiss P210-5 like the one tested, there's one NIB sitting on GB for a "mere" $24995 USD starting bid. It would add +1 to your pool of restricted up here JP. That's a unique Swiss P210, one of a kind up here.

Actually Phil, they tested the 6" Supertarget and others is a subsequent test, same methodology. They have not posted the follow-up article yet but reference the test here:

https ://sigtalk.com/p210/200594-p210-legend-supertarget-accuracy.html

I'd be tempted to agree on the optic (at least that would be the case for me). Although others have argued with me that the real accuracy benefit of the optic is past 25 yards if you are already a good bullseye shooter - which I am not.

I take these tests with a grain of salt of course. There is so much variability. But the reality is a lot of guys opine about the accuracy of guns after only shooting a couple mags off hand. The tests above are at least very systematic with controls and not biased, i.e. based on personal preferences, what is in the arsenal at the time, what is on the block etc.

Thanks for the link Graham. I didn't know that Brian & Tom actually made a Pt. 2 that never made it on TFB, weird that the article was never posted and it's been what about 2-3 years?

Interesting to see the results of the Supertarget, you already know that I owned a Supertarget for a bit over 2 years back in 2014 and tested it "extensively lol". Without putting thousands of rounds through it I've shot it off hand and on sandbags with it's 5" target sibling on numerous occasions and the accuracy results were always very very close, sometimes the 5" bested the 6", sometimes the other way around so I did give a minimal edge to the 6" rested on a bag but otherwise a wash.

I also, like you, take the results with a grain of salt since the "test" was made with different ammo and most importantly over a year later. If the X5 would have been tested that same day with the same ammo and the same shooter & technique, who knows if the ST would have got the title.

My X5-L1 (now sold to a great CGN'r. Thanks Tom!) and X6-L1 (was initially yours if I'm not mistaken Graham) are both, compared to the Legend Target & Supertarget a notch above accuracy wise from both the bags and offhand.

By the way Graham, I love your avatar, La chasse-galerie (The Bewitched Canoe) drawing from H.Julien and story from H. Beaugrand. Very neat stories in popular Canadian folklore given from our social history nationwide.

Yes exactly. At a certain point it is really a wash. Would also love to see tests with multiple samples of the same model. I suspect that would be highly informative on a few levels.

Anecdotally, I would put the Supertarget sample I had on par with the best X guns I've owned (the X6-L1 you now have being one of them).

Just got notification by Canada Post that my M57 is out for delivery today, 4 days early. Go Canada Post.

Will post pictures when it arrives.

A 9MM and an AR-15 purchased in the last two months. I'm in need of two shotguns and a lever now though so restricteds are on hold for a bit. Except the next 1 or 2 ARs I'm piecing together...but that's it...

Received my M57, covered in petrified cosmoline. "F" serial number, so that's 65/66? Little bit different than 80's as quoted in the e-mail from Durham Outdoors.

Was going to post some pictures but I'm not allowed to????

Completed first clean to get rid of cosmoline. 3 Spare mags I bought showing fairly heavy wear. Going to have to strip down all mags and get rid of cosmoline. They were all seized.

On the pistol, could not remove the magazine button. Maybe have to push / hammer the split pin a bit harder. Firing pin "plate" pretty solid as well, could not remove.

Overall looks good after cleaning, much easier to rack the slide than my Polish TT-33, but Polish TT-33 has a much crisper trigger.

Second cleaning planned for over the weekend.

Try the Imgur site, it take a bit of getting used to to transfer the pics, but it works!

Odd that the mags are used, the ones from Tradeex and Weimajack I got were new! All stuck together because of Cosmo but not a scratch on them or the gun except the rubbing on the bottom of the one from Tradeex from the crate! I haven't shot mine yet, or even done the final cleaning, need to soon as our second winter seems to be almost over and will be heading to the range soon!

The mags are stuck together with Cosmo goodness! Top M57 is the nicest of the bunch but all are unfired and fantastic!

I like this idea, when my rpal arrives my goal is to have minimum 5 restricted firearms by elections or years end.
However, we must do all we can to increas the numbr of households that have rpals and restricted firearms. The idea is to make the number of addresses for collection exhaustive.
Buy and Convince others to take their rpal.

RPAL received on Friday, purchased Shadow 2 on Saturday, Transfer completed on Monday(today). Pistol is resting nicely at home next to a Scorpion Evo 3 which also came today.

Question is, how long does the Registration typically take to show up?

This is an update of the pile, now with 24 mores + a picture of one of my Big Boy 44 Mag. Still work to do on this pile.

Well, that's just great! Now the list got bigger.

Where did you pick up the Bad Boy from?

Bought a pair of 8 inch octo barrel at Irunguns, they also have them in 6 inch octo barrel.
The oversized 1860 grip is as good or better than a Bisley grip.

This is on par with a Ruger BH SAA

My purchased new old stock M57 cleaned up great. The magazines were a different story. Cleaned up all the cosmoline / dried grease from pistol and magazines. The general condition of the magazines were poor, heavy usage from the looks of them.

Magazine #1 Will not stay in the pistol grip, falls out.
Magazine #2 Will lock the slide open in the pistol but cannot close the slide by pressing down the slide stop. Only the removal of the magazine will allow the depressing of the slide stop to release the slide.
Magazine #3 (Came with the pistol I think, not sure now as all mixed up) With the magazine inserted into the pistol the slide will not lock open when the slide is pulled back and no bullets in the magazine.
Magazine #4 Functions as normal in the pistol, i.e. stays in to the pistol when inserted and slide locks open when racked with no bullets. In general the magazine conditions were not too good.

Makes me think if its a magazine or pistol issue?

I have not taken the pistol to the range yet.

Fired off an e-mail to Durham Outdoors, waiting for reply.
