X2!!!
I've been admiring your work for a while now, absolutely top-notch! I especially liked your fullstock NEF, what calibre was that again? Could you please post pics of it if it's not too much trouble?

?....The project that I am really excited about is the 9.3X74R stub... it'll be out in the moose woods next fall!
I have done a Krag conversion... Simple job... I "long-throated" it and ran heavier spire points in it. Also done many .22K's from Hornets, .357 MAX from Mag, .445 SM from .44 Mag, .22 BR from Hornet, .358 from .35 Rem, a .260 stub, and a .338F stub... Got more on the table too...
Why don't you do a couple dozen of them while you're at it? There are enough 9.3 aficionados on here, you would have no problem sending them to new homes.
Ted
What kind of performance increase did you notice going to 357 Max? Considering finding someone to ream my chamber from mag to max...
The gun you are referring to is a .357 Maximum;
The OP may like something like this swap barrel pair in .30/30 & 7.62X39;
I just finished a swap barrel set last night, in .35 Whelen and .356/.358 Win... I'll post some pics when I get a chance.

Amazing! Thanks for sharing, I especially like the nifty Monte Carlo on the Maximum.
count me on one ... im lefty so a fs CZ is a no no and still waiting to get an answer for fs in Zastava ...Hello Ted... The stub route is not really a cost effective means of achieving a gun for a specific cartridge... It presupposes certain criteria... Primarily that you really want that particular caliber in "that" particular platform. In my case, I do... Not sure how many others would be on that wagon... At this price point a lot of options open up. I don't see many passing on a new CZ 550 FS in 9.3X62 in favor of a stubbed Handi rifle in 9.3X74R... Would they? Interesting question...
I am thinking of getting a NEF single shot for a project gun in one of the big game calibers. Can anyone with experience with one of these, give me some indication of expected accuracy? thanks.
For my .45/70 Handi's I tend to load to "lever action" levels... I have run about 200 rounds of the 325 FTX through one gun at "Falling Block" (Ruger #1) levels... But I'm not sure what a steady diet of these loads will do to the hinge pin and latch... That batch was for a specific hunt (successful)... For casual clay busting for Timmies coffee's we run 405 Cast at "Trapdoor" levels...
The NEF Handi-Rifles are very strong (lots of steel) and I believe they are mentioned by Buffalo Bore in their literature as one of the rifles that will shoot their +P ammo safely.
Both NEF and H&R have been purchased by Remington but I don't think the rifles will plummet in quality like the Marlin rifles did after that company's takeover.
I think even Remington can make break-open SAs without fracking it up.
Let's keep our fingers crossed anyway.
