The single most instanious improvement for accuracy on these rifles is to free float the barrel by putting a thick O ring between the front piece and the barrel true the retaining bolt... JP.
The .243's had/have some ejection problems.Shame it was never offered in .303 British.I guess a guy could re-chamber a 30-30 to 30-40 Krag? Harold

Personally I'd love to have one someday modified into 6.5x55 swede.
Myself and others find they have a break in period and get better the more you use them.

Hmmm so is a stub is removing the old barrel from the receiver part it's attached to and wielding in place the new barrel?
I wonder if a surplus swede Mauser barrel would work?
