It's not required.. I don't have any of mine in. It's just to keep the pin from coming out and losing your bolt catch/mag release. Never had an issue. If you think you need one, czechpoint down there has them for a couple dollars.

Just got my bolt release this morning and installed fairly easily! My clumsy hands just kept dropping the spring. It works great! I think I need to polish the catch shaft a bit more to get it functioning smoother. Also, I find it a bit easier to push up closer to the joint on the underside of the 'paddle'. Maybe I need to do more 1 finger push-ups. Awesome product, wicked job NEIT Arms!

Is a steel version in the making? Aluminum may hold up well over time, but I trust steel much more

If they are stainless, are they chemically blackened?

No sorry.. unlike many other companies around here, we will not take money on products we do not physically have. It's a company and personal policy. For back ordered items we can arrange a pre payment to hold stock, but never on products that haven't arrived on thier first shipment. If a ship sinks or a UPS truck explodes, or a shipment gets lost, or a product arrives cut in half, neither of us want us sitting on your money.

We have stopped announcing products in development so that all you gear whores don't get twitchy waiting. Future products will just arrive one day.
