Another plus for the Nemesis is that it is featured in the Motion Blockbuster Hit "The Bource Legacy" featuring Jeremy Renner. That'll give you a good example of how it works in a heated situation.![]()
keep THE THREAD ON TOPIC PLEASE, I'm only looking for info on the capabilities of the firearms in order to aid in my decision making .
thanks to all who have put their input so far.
Bahaha! That nemesis had nothing but issues in the cold weather! I hope they all don't perform like that. Caramel's seems to be a good one. Strangely enough I was at R700s range today and guess what was there? The nemesis! Buddy was having all kinds of issues including light strikes which may signify some issues with headspacing with the removable barrel.
I think Tomochan is correct in saying that until its more proven its just another rifle.
And personally I think looks like the wrong end of a bulldog.lol but that's just me!
.
Any firearm capability is a limited by the shooter, I've used a remington 5r and reached out to 1100 yards on balloons with it. The TRG is completely capable of sub MOA as you can see in my pictures. If your gonna be a competition shooter then in my opinion the .308 is all together the wrong caliber. It is a great caliber but not my means the best in accuracy. Basketball lob shoots at long range easily bucked by heavy winds.Good ballistics but not the best. The .308 ain't no laser beam so if you want a better ballistic and an accurate bench rifle then switch it up. For a .308, the TRG is very very accurate and good enough for most things. I find my TRG likes 2550 fps for 178-185 grains. If I'm using different bullets, i'll load up for that speed and pretty much get the same results. I occasionally use a 155 at 2950 fps. Which is way to fast in my opinion for a .308, those speeds just burn the barrel out. If your trying to keep it supersonic at 1000 sending 190 grain bullet 3000 fps then again switch your caliber.Alot dudes try to shave some MOA off by keeping it flat and fast at longer ranges but again, wrong caliber. When i crank off balloons at 800 my bullet is going 850 feet per second as per the ballistics, well below the desired super sonic speed and guess what....the bullet is still on course popping the balloons. Some days when i'm sh@tting the bed shooting, it still pulls together better than most rifles. Learn the wind and the bullets will make it out long range.
Pro's for the TRG in my opinion.
1)-awesome stock, pistol grip is very nice and it's ambi for when you switch it up
2)-I have had a Jewell benchrest trigger and in my opinion the TRG trigger is the best i've used.2 Stage trigger with complete adjustments all done by removing the trigger housing. I don't think all ever go back to a single stage trigger now after the TRG.
3)-The dirtier the better. I haven't cleaned mine in 800 rds other than a pull through with the bore snake.
4) The hotter mine gets the better it is. Which is a plus if your a competition shooter. Send em down range.
5)-High resale value. Most used TRGs go for about 2700-3000 on here and most people pick them up at that price
6)- 10 rd magazine that is flush with the stock
The only real drawback i find is the hook under the stock for the hand/bag. Not as long as McMillian A5 but you'll learn to get around it. The SAKO brand accessories are way over priced but you don't really need em. Get a Harris or Atlas bipod and your all business.
Stoeger Canada are great to deal with. Very fast at responding to emails if you have questions. I got mine locally new for a heck of a price. My next whip is gonna be a .260 something. If it ain't an AW it is gonna be the TRG in a .260......major rare or a rebarrel of the .308. To to OP, you will not be dissappointed with the TRG and if you are, you'll get 90% of the money back in resale minus the taxes. Get one and run it hot and fast.
For the price they are asking for the Nemesis, you could get a really nice custom rifle built to your specs that would shoot lights out. Although the Nemesis looks cool, it definitely doesn't look as comfortable to shoot as other rifles, and doesn't seem to be as versatile for different shooting positions as other rifles would be. I don't really see the point of a take-down rifle, unless you're an assassin. But if you really want it, I wouldn't stop you from buying one.
Personally, I would spend the coin on a custom gun, such as TacOps (looking forward to receiving mine!), GAP, LA Precision, BlackOps Precision, AJ Brown, KMW, Surgeon, etc. These rifles would almost definitely outshoot a Nemesis, and would be a lot more versatile to different shooting conditions as well as being more "ergonomic". The only problem with these would be you would need to import them (questar or prophet river firearms can handle it for you) which will add on to the bill. It would be worth it though
Those rifle would have a hard time keeping with my rifle, i am kind o a masoshist but her is a group shot last week at our private range, had no intention to post it not to feed the troll, that why it was all squashed up in my backpack but i can resist, you guys take your best shot, this group is Hornady 178 gr Amax, R-15,BR-2, OAL 2.915, 1.75 inch @ 600 METRES, that come down to a astonishing .05 MOA not .5... Cheers. JP ( A very satistied shooter )

great shooting! I'm just trying to figure out if yours is an anomaly or what one can expect , providing the shooter can shoot.
Oops. I figured it out in yards not meters. But you get the point.Caramel, 1.75"@ 600 yards is .29moa
Caramel, 1.75"@ 600 yards is .29moa
caramel, what temperatures have you shot it in , I do shoot allot in the winter and in Winnipeg it can get really cold have you experienced any issues in cold temps?
