Never-ending neck problems...

This works for me. I use one for a stenosis that presses on a nerve. Be warned though they can be hard on the jaw. If you have TMJ you shouldn’t use this. I use 10lbs (sand) for 20mins a couple of times a day when I have a flare up. Try to apply heat or a hot shower before

Before I resort to the above My chiro can usually massage the problem away over a couple of visits. Don’t dismiss a good experienced chiro, they can have great knowledge of the intricacies of neck anatomy. Mine has never performed any “adjustments” on my neck. Only massage and manual traction. Most problems are muscles that have gone tight and spasm which causes nerves to be pinched. Once the muscles get relaxed the problems stop… until next time.

Have been shooting at my club for about a year, using an Anschutz 1403. It has aperture sights front and rear, which work well for me.

One day, about 10 months ago, I made the mistake of trying "the hunting rifle" from amongst the club guns. Its a scoped CZ 455. I was shooting prone.

In order to see through the scope, I had to raise my head VERY high. Shot for about 90 mins. in several relays. Boy, that was a mistake. I have had a constant headache and neck pain/stiffness ever since.

Can no longer shoot prone at all. Have been shooting the Anschutz standing, but even that is difficult because I have to turn my head to the left (am right handed) and neck is stiff and sore looking left. Opened up my stance to minimize neck twist, but it doesn't really help.

Doctor sent me for a bunch of tests and even a brain MRI but found nothing.

Been doing physio and massage, with only minimal improvement. Physio thinks its a pinched nerve, but wouldn't it start to un-pinch now, after months of work?

The constant pain and headache is really getting to me. Its been going on for 10 months.

Anyone have any experience with this type of neck injury?
You may have lesions in the disks in your neck from the trauma sustained. These are tiny tears that allows spinal disc fluid to leak out inflaming the surrounding tissue and aggravating the nerves causing pain and discomfort. Most Canadian Dr’s are unaware of this type of injury as it doesn’t show up on commonly prescribed X Rays. You would need to have an annulogram or discography imaging to see this. We had to take my wife to Dallas to see a specialist for proper diagnosis and a procedure called Discseel. Hopefully , for your sake it is NOT as severe as what my wife suffered. Her prognosis is good and time will tell the success of the procedure . Good luck
