New 9mm HK P30LS vs Sig P226 MK25

I've owned two Sigs and both of them were lemons straight when I got them. I now own two Hks, a USP and a P30L. Sigs QC alone is enough to make me turn my nose at them now. I'm not saying you can't get a good one, I'm just saying I had probably the worst experience imaginable with them. I second the idea of using the P30LS to train, and shoot the Hk45 when finances allow, they are essentially the same pistol control and feel wise.

Care to elaborate? It seems that people with issues with Sigs either
a.) Ride the slide lock or
b.) Are using the inferior Checkmate magazines they come with, orrrrrrr
c.) Insufficiency lubricate 'em

But I'd be interested to know how they were lemons. One is possible, TWO Sigs and they're both lemons...that's gonna need some clarifying.

Put it this way, I haven't fired it (no one has) and I'm getting rid of it (there's a first time for everything, in 30 years). So much for German superiority. I've owned an M&P45, and frankly, in my humble opinion it's light years ahead of the HK. I absolutely hate the ergos on that gun.

That's just like saying that you like Ferraris over Porsches, or burgers over hot dogs, and that's how it should be. Everyone's got there likes or dislikes when making comparisons between things. Telling someone that you do not like the ergonomics of a certain pistol, and that they shouldn't even consider it because of that, is a bit biased don't you think? Just because you hate it, it doesn't mean that everyone else who owns an HK45 should as well.

When I was faced with that decision I picked the P30L, I have used a sig and loved it as well, recoil on the P30 is next to nothing compared to the sig, just my opinion. Plus my wife picked the HK over the sig based on looks.

I think i'm going to take the day off tomorrow and go on a "Walk about" to a few Gun shops. I'm sure some shop will get my money tomorrow.

The first 226 in .40 had a deformed feed ramp and the area that houses the barrel was improperly machined resulting in all sorts of feed failures. The second was a 226 in 9mm and the frame of the pistol was machined so poorly that the slide sat forward on the frame almost 1/8 of an inch, causing the hammer to barely contact the firing pin, obviously resulting in light strikes.

Will do.

Target sports say they had a large shipment come in. Not much on the website however, so i'll drop in there first.

After shooting Sigs, glocks, 1911s and a USP i went with a P30L. I love a lot of handguns and enjoy shooting most. However, at the end of the day the P30 had the best grip for me and I shoot it really well. I just ordered a HK45 fullsize and a HK45C. Love the look of the compact as it is a little different from my P30L but after shooting my buddies P2000 I find the grip, which is the same as the compact, on the 45C too small and short. Whichever you go with, get some snap caps and dryfire every night and it will really improve your accuracy. Everyone has their opinion but in the end you have to live with it.
BTW the SA trigger on my P30L is quite nice and I outshoot a lot of guys with Glocks, 1911s, ... Not because I'm so good but because they are not that good. It is the user that makes a firearm accurate, not the brand or even the trigger.

So after a long day of Driving around. I found one.

I bought a Sig P226 TacOps in 9mm. Pic's to follow when i bring her home in a few days. Got a good deal, and the MK25 was just too much for what you really get.

Tacops gives 4 mags, SRT, Rear night sights, Front Truglo Fiber optic.

First time I have heard that...will the number of them selling as soon as they hit the selves here in Canada....and many more being pre ordered, you are far from the "normal" feelings on this gun. In the words of TDC tho...it doesn't matter how the gun fits...its YOUR fault, not the guns for disliking it!!! :p

Sigs are fine, triggers are nice but I can shoot any gun "stock" just fine. I am no trigger princess :p

The only "down" about Sigs is there QC has gone way wayyy done over the years.

To the OP...able to shoot either of them first?

Check out Williams' Arms...they're in Port Perry, Ontario. Out towards the Uxbridge area. They usually have a good variety of mags on hand. That's where I buy most of my guns and accessories from. My last purchase there was actually a P226, and a few extra mags!

Ha, thats my local store. Always my first stop. Nope no mags. But i did return to buy a 1000 rds of 9mm this afternoon. Their stock of ammo and Pistols is running thin. John says he has a ton on order, but who knows when that will come in.

Small world, brother! I was in there probably a couple of weeks back, and Gary told me the same thing! But he did have a bunch of 226 mags in stock.

I'll keep my eyes open for mags, and if I do find some, I'll let you know. And if by a any chance you're gonna swap out the TacOps grips for standard 226 grips, lemme' know. I want a set of the TacOps grips for my Elite Dark...if you wanna' sell, that is... ;)
