New ACR in the works ??

I am a proud owner of my ACR, and am happy to see there are companies like Templar that might be able to make it even better. But god is she heavy.
Recently I have been given the option to purchase a Stirling Arms receiver set though. Being able to cut the weight down and use AR rails and such have some ### appeal. The question is, if you could have just one, what would it be?

Unless I can take my actual AR's back out, I'll be sticking with my ACR. There's too much grey zone f*ckery going on with the others for me to consider it.

The ACR with 18.5” is a bit heavy but that’s what we have for now, I’ve put the Geiselle trigger and it is awesome! The day we can take our ARs out of the safe again then we can talk but for now it is my best and only choice.

Uh, NO.

The ACR features an aluminum Upper Receiver, a Tool-Less Quick-Change Barrel System, and arguably the best Retractable and Folding Buttstock on the market. The G36 lacks all of the aforementioned features and has a gritty 10-lb trigger pull. The two very different rifles are difficult to confuse....

I very much enjoy my ACR. It is a well-designed, robust and reliable firearms system. As is the G36, but they are apples and oranges aside from the shared calibre....

I agree 100%. I've owned several of them over the years, and in their restricted form (with the 16" or 10" barrel) they are pretty much the best rifle I've ever used. Could they be better? Sure, an aluminum lower with swappable pistol grip, and a QD barrel system with a separate tool to reduce weight, would arguably be improvements. That being said, the ergonomics are pretty much perfect (I'm in the minority who like the forward charging handle, I guess), reliability has been 100% with the ones I've used, accuracy is decent, and it's light and well balanced. I don't get the "it's too heavy" comments.... sure, it's heavier than an AR with a comparable barrel, but not excessively so.

Hopefully a new one will accept AR15 grips.

Seeing as the AR grip change was in the Remdef V2 before being disco'd, and Templar is very actively selling their lower influenced by the V2, Franklin Armory would be insane not to also do include it as the norm.

We chatted, hanged, and pew and the gang all said it was heavy as fook. We laughed and I thought, well my 3rd ACR owner regret; should have kept mine... Damn you CGN user Onetwentyfish...

:p btw, there is something fishy about how you wrote my handle.

Fyi, AV12g is CGNer "White Knight". He is a great guy with a good skillset and and a keen eye for firearms photography. His IG is one of the things I miss the most since opting out of (anti) social media/spyware.
