New Apex Optics from Calgary

I wasn’t aware that Japan was under lockdown. Maybe your thinking about China.

Well I wasn't aware for Japan either. This is straight from Apex this week:

"Well, it turns out that COVID-19 has taken our factory in Japan down for the count again.

A major outbreak of the newest variant has caused Japanese government officials to shut the factory down for two full weeks. As a result, the factory is closed and sealed off from outside access, and our order is sitting there waiting to be palletized and picked up for delivery to our facility in Calgary.

As part of our ongoing meetings with our factory reps we were able to confirm that the units scheduled for delivery in April will be shipping out in May, along with the bulk of the units coming to us from Japan. Unfortunately we will not be able to meet the timetable communicated in late-February.

We’re extremely disappointed in this latest development, since we can’t wait to get these amazing optics to our patient and loyal customers.

We will be working hard to finalize the delivery dates over the next few weeks, and we’ll be posting an update along with an email blast so that everyone can stay up-to-date with the latest info.

These things happen and I'm sure no one is less pleased than Vanja and their crew. We still don't have any money into this whereas I'm sure they've invested plenty.
 
Yea obviously it sucks for everyone. At least I got an Ares ETR 3-18 to play with while I wait for my Apex.

I'm juste glad Apex is giving us updates so we are not kept on the dark.
 
Apex

Looks like Apex began shipping scopes to the first 50 or so preorder customers. The remainder ( Me ) will have to wait until June when they expect the remainder of their order to arrive from Japan.

Patience is a virtue.

I, too, am waiting. I did get a chance to look through one at a recent match and can't wait to try mine out.
As for Japan being in lockdown, yes they have some weird rules for manufacturing facilities (which is why you can't get specific bike parts to save your life right now).
Hopefully they can get everything up and running before the monkey pox takes over.
 
im in the 1300's and got notice that my Apex is being shipped, so some good news at least for some of us.

I think you mean processed. My understanding was that they were taking payment for orders shipping in June.

Mine is in the 850 range and I too got excited when I first received an email that was labeled "Pre-Order Available" - which I first read as a shipping notice...
 
Sorry for the confusion everyone.
The pre-order was officially ended on May 31st, so all pre-orders were converted to actual orders in our web sales system automatically, so you would have received an "Order Received" or "processing" email.

This is just a confirmation that your order is in our system, and it'll be shipped out as soon as they units are ready! A few more weeks and they'll be out the door.

Although it has seemed like an interminable wait, it would appear as if it will be over very shortly ! I just received an email from Apex saying that Rival scopes will be shipping out this week ! Apparently there will be notices send to each individual who has pre-ordered the day their scope gets sent.

I should have known better !

When I called Apex last week asking about delivery of the preordered Apexs I had to leave a voicemail. I got an email on Monday of THIS week from an officer of the company assuring me they were being shipped out THIS week. i was delighted, I was feeling good about it as it has been a long 7 month wait. To be certain I sent them an email confirming that scopes were to be sent THIS week and would it be OK to announce it? I immediately got their assurances that it was definitive and I could feel free to let anyone know.

I am sorry to have created additional disappointment for those of your waiting on their orders. I'll forgo any additional announcements until I actually unwrap a parcel from Apex that truly has a scope inside! Until then my apologies to all.
