New Apex Optics from Calgary

One thing thats odd, the product image of their scope shows 4-28 while the only model they have listed is a 4-32. I’m guessing they don’t actually have a scope built yet?
Edit- says tested in Canada but theres no pictures of the scope yet.

Hey there, was just made aware of this thread, so I wanted to jump in and answer as many questions as I can (just got back from hockey and can't sleep).

I'm one of the co-founders of Apex Optics and am the one behind the design and day-to-day running of the company. So ask away!

Might as well fire away !

Who is doing the assembly ? Is it LOW in Japan ?
Am I correct to assume it's similar to an Athlon Cronus quality and glass wise ?

It sure seems like a very good scope at 2k.

Which factory is behind your scopes? Your website mentions ED Japanese glass, are the scopes also assembled in Japan?
Will you guys have a store front in Calgary?

Pre-ordered yesterday, looks great and gotta get behind the AB boys.
I listened to some of the podcast, but not all yet. Sounds like there is a 3-15 hunting scope with turrets and a 1-10 LPVO on the way.
I really like the all stainless steel guts and thicker/stronger main tube, the 15 mil per rotation, illumination off positions, second rotation stainless pop up indicator, zero stop, 4-32 mag range, throw lever and the reticle.
I am really interested in seeing the glass quality, eyebox and FOV.

Are there locking turrets? I don't care, just curious.
And I think I heard that the parallax would have distances marked on the final version?

Thanks for the great comments and the questions.

Yes there's a 3-15 hunting scope with exposed turrets in development, as well as a 1-10 LPVO.
The turrets on the Rival 4-32x56 are not locking, but there is a mechanical Zero-Stop integrated with the 2-turn indicator. We are looking at locking turrets as a potential design feature of the 3-15 hunting scope.

And yes, the final version that is coming next week has parallax knob indicators for the approximate value for 100, 200, 500, and 800 yard distances.

I'd be very interested in the 3-15 hunting scope, any ETA?

Are you looking at putting parallax adjustment into the 1-10 scope? I realize many do not think it is necessary for a lpvo but it would make it into a nice all-around scope.

In regards to your 4-32, would you compare it more to the nightforce nx8 which is more of an all around/hunting scope and has the same magnification range or to the ATACR 7-35 which is aimed more as a competition scope with a better eyebox?

There were many prototypes that were built as part of the R&D process. The final pre-production units will be in our hands next week which have the finalized markings and all of the production features since we made a change a few months ago. Our web team put up the wrong picture. Sorry for the confusion!

The website pictures appear to be computer generated? Do you have working prototypes on hand?
