New AR build

Nobody has anything to add about the barrel pushing the BCG a little? When installing the barrel in the receiver it stuck out 1/8-14” from where the pin needed to sit in the notch

Why would have the BCG in when installing the barrel? How was the upper secured? What did you use to torque barrel but?

You do know that the BCG locks into the barrel extension, right? That’s why the barrel wouldn’t go on all the way and is what the BCG moved when you pushed the barrel in the remaining amount.

I know nothing, I’m learning as I go

I built the lower, then upper, had it all assembled then installed the barrel last. That’s a bad way to do it?

I used a mag in the vise to hold everything, then used a torque wrench with an armourers wrench. Then just the armourers wrench to line up the gas tube

Did I do something wrong?

Well I can’t argue with results but that’s not normally how it’s done. A receiver block is normally used to hold the upper in the vise with no BCG. You got it on and it sounds like you were able to torque the barrel nut on so not much else to say. Hopefully you get the opportunity to shoot it in the not too distant future.

Alright, thanks! So I did it wrong but it should be ok
I called a buddy I’ll know Friday if he has permission to shoot on his sons land. Fingers crossed this weekend she’ll make some noise!
