Yes he bought it, it’s in mint condition.
I’m thinking of trading my Bergara for it and then throwing it on the EE.

He wants my Bergara so I told him if I can get $1200 for the model 7 the Bergara is his.

I can only assume that Model 7 is a 223 Remington Caliber.

Ruger is coming out with a new “ruger American ranch gen II scout” that has the gen 2 features but non fluted barrel and factory iron sights. The “patrol” also is an gen 2 with non fluted barrel. All the cool rugers seem to be out of stock everywhere right now.

They really need to work on their naming. They have made several rifles each with the names American, scout, ranch. Add them all together and it’s the current model I guess

The Henry supreme, BCL and savage 110 scout are some other options for a compact 223. I’d avoid the tikka I just never really liked them
 
Less popular choice. But absolutely love my BCL Bison.

Has everything I wanted in a more compact. .223 rifle.

Accuracy is respectable in and around MOA. but for me I just like the pack ability SMOOTH action and perfect feeding, extraction and ejection no matter what it’s fed.

I've got the Tikka Roughtech Ranch with 16" barrel and it is an awesome little rifle. No negatives that I can think of except for price. Their are cheaper options, but they don't compare. you get what you pay for.

You're absolutely right about the Ruger Scout rifles being out of stock. Back in January, I had the opportunity to actually hold the Gunsite Scout. The store had three of them available. Back then I wan't into the whole scout rifle concept, but the Gunsite Scout spoke to me. When I called back to the store after weekend, all of them were sold.

I have looked at the Gen 2 American Scout and it's hard for me to get super excited. A lot of good upgrades, but it just doesn't have the coolness of the Gunsite Scout.
