A super lever is the Big Boy from Henry slick action and finition is flawless, put them byside a newer production Marlin and..... JP.
Most of the rear peeps for the 77/44 require the front sight be replaced and I would suspect the same with the 77/357.ooh. I am adding one of these to my collection. Perfect for those heavy 180gr hollowpoints

I have a barrel-mounted Skinner aperture sight on my 77/44 that fitted easily into the dovetail and works well with the factory front sight.

Be nice if they chopped the barrel to 14 inches...
How about a laminated stock?
No they are very light... JP.
According to Ruger it will shoot .38 Special however there is one potential issue. This was posted on their Facebook page.I wondered who would FINALLY make a bolt action in this cartridge. I'm down for one. I was considering the .44 Mag version so I'm glad I held off buying it. If this rifle could shoot .38 SPl. it would be damn near perfect in my mind.
The 77/357 will usually function well when loaded with .38 Special. However, the left over space in the magazine allows .38 Special cartridges room to migrate, occasionally to where the rim of the top round gets caught behind the rim of the round below, causing a “rim lock” jam. The incidence rate of this malfunction is fairly low, and varies by ammunition type. If you want to shoot .38 Special in your 77/357 you are welcome to do so, but you can’t blame your gun if it does not function perfectly! The gun was designed to shoot, and will shoot best, with 357 Magnum ammunition.
Exactly what I first thought.
Or even a 12" barrel, should be plenty long enough to get maximum potential out of pistol cartridge. Would make a really handy carbine to have on an ATV or farm truck.
if the SBR laws in the US apply to bolt action rifles then that would be the reason for them not making it that short
But someone in Canada "could" make a 12" barrel for after-market installation...![]()
