New bolt action .357mag from Ruger

They are nice in bolt action they give very good accuracy and being a Ruger you know it is well made and with the propriarity rings it shoot well... but i do love my levers... JP.

I took my 77/44 out yesterday for the first time. the most fun I've had with a rifle in a LONG time. I was giggling the whole time. I'll be saving for one in .357 for sure. I can't wait to take this thing for walk in the fall. For now though, it will live in the back of my helicopter for the summer.

I went to the store 2 weeks ago to buy a 77/44 with the new Camo finish. Its a nice size and weight but the clip was very difficult to pull out. Must have been designed by a former Remington employee. So I did not buy it. If those of you that have one have had no problem with your clips then I will consider this an isolated incident and try again some day.

The magazine can be a little fiddly but with practice it comes out very easily. Push the release and pull down at the front.

The magazine is hard only in the beginning after a short while they just easy, something get broken in in the rifle as i bought 2 news magazines and they were easy out of the package... JP.

I just put an Volquartsen extended mag release from a 77/22 into my 77/44 and now I can get the mag to drop free every time. It needed a little bit of fitting but was worth it. The 77/22 target sear and spring also worked in my 77/44 and dropped the pull to less than 3 lbs.

Glad to hear it, now I'm getting itchy... I really like the .357 in a rifle, with 'Lil Gun, I've had 158grs safely WAY over 2,000fps.

I just got a 77/44 from Lebaron. The trigger sucks but a little work should smooth it up. Does anyone know of an aftermarket peep other than the NECG model?

These rifles look to be incredible. Mag fed .357 bolt guns in SS with iron sights, what more could you want.

You can load up 500 rounds for under $100.00, and brass is super easily obtainable. Even factory ammo is like $25.00 per 50, and you've got plenty of power out to 100y.

With a fixed 4x scope and see through sights, this would be a deer slayer for sure. I'm guessing the accuracy will be pretty good as well.

You are right about that... it is very accurate in the model 77 44 with Fiocchi 200 gr Extrema HP it shoot easy under 2 inchs at a 100 metres... JP.

One inch high at at 100 metres ( 2 inchs grouping ) center ( 4 inchs grouping ) at 150 metres 4 inch low at 200 metres and still was grouping 6 inchs at 200 metres ( real world grouping ) with a energy of 750 pounds ( estimated )... JP.
