99% of the people on this site can't see the difference

not to mention those are not real "snap" pictures, but ad pictures.

for a custom (not mass made out of huge company) Canadian 1911 pistol i think its a fair price.
The only thing they don't have is a proven track record, once they get that, they will be a steal at that price if you can still get them for that price.
All you complainers stick to you 300 norinco if you don't want to save up.
I would rather have 1 nice gun then a bunch of Chinese made ok guns.

I agree 100% with both statements.
The general lack of knowledge on the company and the fact (ostensibly) they are relatively new, does not allow me to justify paying for a pistol that is the same price as a B&T TP9
Great looking guns quality list of parts but the big question still remains will they make it in 10mm?
As I said earlier I like what I see and have read but I have absolutely no interest in these guns if they are not available in 10mm, I would even get a spare 40 S&W barrel fitted for cheap practice rounds...

I really don't think that those prices are out of line at all - compare to Nighthawk and Wilson et al. It's not a Norinco but I guess if you want Canadian made then we have to pay a price...
ok i own a norinco... and getting called a cheapskate is a little insulting.
ill admit to being frugal.. thats about it.
for the uninformed norinco's are a great platform to throw $1000 at and have a premium grade gun that'll out shoot and be more reliable than lots of other $1500 "equivalents"
alot of the bad reputation for norinco's comes from the US who only have experience with pre-ban 1980's models.

that said.... I have been shopping extensively for a really good / the best sub $1500 handgun for IPSC or IDPA... something better than entry level.
my budget has been set by the job at hand... so I need to save up for about 1yr.
that being said if the product output by these guys fall in spec for what i need.
Then i would probably prefer this to a cz combat sport which has worked itself onto the top of my list... from the website they do have product that matches the bill $$ wise.
that being said... most people touting their $2k+ have done so in such an elitist and arrogant fashion i have pretty much decided to draw a formal line in the sand at $1500.
if you dont like my line in the sand i suggest you donate a portion of your vast riches to my car payment mortgage family on a very tight budget fund.
its currently being supported by ei due to my current employer thinking im "too picky" to work in the shop over the winter as an automotive final prepper & painter....
in a market that thinks $700 to paint a whole car by maaco is the normal/fair price.
and paying a trades person more than $20/hr out of the $120 charged is a farce.

I wonder if they only build the listed models, or if they can be custom built differently. For me, the ramped barrel is a show-stopper. I would also prefer to have a GI short guide rod, no forward slide serrations, and slotted grip screws.

This thread is about a new Canadian pistol builder/gunsmith that wants to make a go of it in our small market. I applaud this business and am thinking about making a purchase. What does it have to do with your crappy chinise made 1911? If you have no respect for yourself and the gun comminity by purchasing a terribly made firearm most likely by underage workers in harsh conditions go ahead. I ask you not to litter this thread with posts of how your purchased junk is good enough for you or how your life sucks.
If things are hard going for you right now - I hope for better times for you. I don't think I need to read about them here.
I found their site a while back, and I am relatively sure the 1911's are a new addition to their website, like within the last month. I was more interested in what they have on their home page which is a Canadian made 50BMG and 338 lapua. So for those wondering why no one has one yet, maybe they just started producing these.
Good luck to them! Another Canadian firearms business is only good news. They are in sort of a weird price point though, above the low and mid range 1911's and below the high range ones. The 6" 1911 market is also a lot smaller I would think than the 4.25" but they sure look fancy! I would like to try a 6" 1911, but probably not own one. A Canadian built commander would be of interest depending on the price point. I would hope they sort out the printing so it isn't covered partly by the grips before they make it though

You can turn any POS into something else, but why bother? If I were buying a Norinco, I would keep it a Norinco. Dressing it up like a top grade gun isn't fooling anyone except the cash strapped owner. Check the EE, there are lots of Chinese guns that guys have spent retarded amounts of money on, only to have them sit in limbo because nobody is willing to pay what the owner thinks they are worth. I am not against buying Chinese guns, they are inexpensive copies of tried and true designs. Just don't kid yourself into thinking that your Norc is a couple of upgrades away from being an STI or Kimber.
