New CF Service Pistol

If they were to issue 1911 .45's to our troops, whenever we are deployed near Americans we could trade them for more valuable equipment, like M1A1 Abrams tanks or AH-64 Apache gunships. Think about it we could re-equip our whole army just by trading 1911's to the front-line American troops

Well, its what all the other tactical wizards are using.

No you dont want anything to do with something like that. You'd have to take shooting to a whole new level to appreciate a fine firearm like that.

Yes, I am definitely old school. Browning High Powers. Still the best. Plus, it is heavy enough to beat someone with sufficiently if it happens to run empty. Perfection happened years ago, it just wore out over time.

Lol...the funny thing about this is there seems to be so much disdain and lack of proper training with pistols in the Forces today that the new pistol will likely be picked by people who are not pistol shooters, have no interest in pistols, and no real training in proper shooting and operation of pistols....and I know that there are some very good pistol shooters in the Forces, but do you think they'll get tapped to help select?

I can't see the contract getting filled. That said, if I were Peter Mackay, I'd just put out a tender targetting Glock 17s or S&W M&P9s and be done with it. Whoever comes in at the lowest price wins.

Whatever they buy, I don't care. It'll be OK. I'm looking frikkin forward to the Brownings being on the market. I know that lots of you guys think that it's better to just throw the thing at the enemy but some of us can get a pretty tight group at 25 yds with this classic. ;)
