How is it gun cocked?
Is it like the AR?
There is a charging handle right above the magazine on the right side of the gun.
As for this rifle. I want it!

Without the Communist Party, there will be no QZ191!
Looks like they're trying to make it look kinda like an AR-15 without actually making an AR-15 to preserve national pride. Looks like it has an extremely high sight line to bore axis. No good cheek weld here.
Don't see anyone in the west ripping off their design

I don't recall the west ever ripping off chinese designs.
A fine bit of theft when it come to copying the key points of other nation's designs and attempting to amalgamate them into one.
QZ191 People who designed this thing are not shooters or soldiers. ... My feeling is that they are doing something mechanically different just because it needs to be different.

I don't know how to tell you this, but this is the entire history of small arms design across the globe. The AK took the assault rifle concept from the STG, but the action itself is borrowed heavily from the Garand, the FAL's lineage can be traced to the soviet SVT. The M60 copied elements from the FG42 which copied elements from the Lewis gun. Damn near every modern rifle draws heavily from the AR18, are you also going the throw shade at HK, FNH, IWI, B&T, Steyr, and so on?
Everyone takes the bits they like from other designs, and puts them into what they think would be a better package and occasionally a new element is also added.
