Just received my new stainless USP; soon to be stainless Custom sport.
Something I noticed is the tight fit of the slide. ON my previous USP Custom Sport, there were plastic shavings on around the receiver rails, Q.C. evident, someone took the time to remove these on the stainless.
It is a new coded AG pistol, so I believe that is 2006, hence the new version of the hammer and probably new version of the Firing pin(?) This hammer is basically the match hammer from the Match Trigger kit, and is only to be used with the new version of the Catch.
Another thing I noticed is the area on the frame that the Top of the trigger piece rubs over has been reworked? Right behind the area where the trigger bar pivots on the trigger has a recessed area that must improve the feel of the trigger in DA.
The Trigger in DA is smoother right off the bat than my first USP. Not sure how much the trigger in relation to the frame and hammer has to do with that, but it is better. The only difference I see between the trigger on this new stainless I have purchased and my Custom sport is the hammer spring and trigger return spring, and of the course the trigger stop.
The lanyard loop does not have a lock out piece that was evident on my first USP, but lacking on my Custom sport.....?
All in all I am very satisfied with this purchase, and I only have to transfer my sights, hammer spring, and trigger return spring /trigger from my Custom sport onto this pistol. I also will change this from V1 to a V3=no external safety.
Evident changes from earlier USP's is the Q.C. of the plastic frame and DA shot. The SA is good, crisp, although slightly heavier, maybe around 4 lbs?
SA in a CS is almost a full pound lighter.
