New CZ Shadow owner. Is mine broken?

All this safety talk made me check mine today while I was in the safe. My safety will engage while the hammer is down but I can still pull the trigger and fire the gun double action with it engaged. It works fine if the hammer is cocked and safety applied, trigger does nothing. Strange. Guns has tens of thousands of rounds through it so nothing surprises me. Anybody know a dealer that has Shadow barrels in stock? Not having much luck finding one in Canada.

How many rounds dude? my first Shadow is over 150,000 and while it groups larger than my new gun, it's still a 5 inch group at 50m, perfectly good for IPSC. my backup gun is 50,000+ and is still as good as the new gun. I'd try some different bullets. I only shoot jacketed or plated though.

Round count is unknown...former range rental gun from a popular range in a big city. Looking down the barrel next to my other CZ75 barrel the rifling is noticeably weaker. I've tried numerous types of bullets with no difference. The oversized cast work but I don't like loading different ammo for that one gun when my normal load works in my other 4 9mm's fine.

Have you tried deleading the barrel (electronically). CZ pistol barrels are hammer forged, they are cut from the same barrel stock as their subguns. To have one wear out the bore would be shocking, although as a range rental possible.
That said, CZ Custom has them, but not sure about their policy of selling barrels to Canadians. I'd blanket email a bunch of dealers and see what you can find. I'll try asking around too. Someone had a bunch of Ozzie barrels at one point (slightly longer than what we get), but I think they are all gone.

There's no lead buildup in the barrel. It slugged out at .358 when I slugged it.Probably damaged from the high round count and the gun shop cleaning the bore excessively.More bores are ruined from cleaning than shooting.I knew it had a lot of rounds through it but it was cheap so I took a chance on it...I was actually surprised how bad the accuracy was when I started shooting it.On the plus side the trigger is great...everything is worn in really nice lol.

you're probably right about that, and that's too bad. Hopefully you can find a new barrel.

Heu guys, just figured I'd give you an update. I was able to order a new sear. Had no problems installing it and everything works as it should now. Safety only engages when in half and fully cocked. Doesn't even move with the hammer down. And im not able to do that weird decocker thing anymore either.

All is good! Thanks for all the help.
