New deer rifle - Picts up

Yes it's true that Leupold makes the bases but compared to the Kimber bases the Leupolds look like an afterthought, buy the Kimbers they are beatifully shaped and very nicely machined.
I have the same set on my 8400 270WSM but recently put on a pair of Talley lightweights, they are lighter and fit well also.

Grouser, very nice iron, Kimber is making nice rifles and very good bang for the buck IMHO

Not sure what leupold bases your talking about? Mine are very well made and every bit as nice as the Kimbers.. Gotta love that pre/64 model 70 action.

Leupold makes fine rings and bases, but in the case of the Kimber bases they are machined/blended into the action contours perfectly being finished to a very sharp edge giving the impression of the two parts being one from a distance, the Leupolds although good solid bases do not fit as "closely" as the Kimbers, that is to be expected considering that the Kimbers cost more and are made especially for that rifle.
IMO
