NEW DETAILS - B.C. Lowermainland m14s clinic DEC 2

Lucky doggers. And I don't mean cause of the white stuff. But it is good to see the lower rain land get treated like the rest of BC once in a while.:)

Well Guys, how did it go? Hope you had fun,all you guys past Hope.He He.Nice to turn that one around.(ya it was pretty lame but who cares) Later

Well a big thank you to Laz and Thomas, With out either of the 2 guys none of this would of came together........the information was TOP notch and very useful.
When my rifle from marstar rolls around I will know exactly what to do and how to modify my gun !
The burgers also tasted great and those tasty sausages!

If laz has time to email out those information sheets I would appreciate that - I will PM you Thomas personally again...............Thanks guys!

First, I'll say a BIG thank you to Lazerus2000 for sharing his wisdom and 45APCKING for his hospitality!!! Secondly, it was worth every minute of the 3hrs drive there and back from the Wack. Learned lots and had lots of laughs. I did take along my camcorder and got some great tutorials but didn't bring enough tape to get everything that was said there :( So 45APCKING and I are going to get together some time in the next month or so to get a dvd's worth and once it is done it will be avalible to everone :D I highly recomend attending one of these to anyone who has a M14 and want to learn from some of the best in the biz...

A pile of info obtained. Covered bolt lapping, headspace checking, gas system tightening, flashhider removal, and trigger strip and smoothing.
A big thanks to 45APCKING for putting this on (and his roommate, for putting up with it all....), and to Laz2000 for imparting a pile of wisdom, technique, and tips for some heavy duty maintenance on these '###y :p' pieces O' kit, in a short period of time.

Well, I got to tell you that I was thoroughly disappointed... you guys can't eat donuts worth beans! ;) I figured 12 guys could easily finish off 2 dozen donuts over more than 6 hours! And only 2 beers... what a joke! :runaway:

A big thank-you to Thomas for hosting this great event and to Larry for coming over from the big island to show us the ropes on M14S upgrades and maintenance. I learnt a lot.

I think the first thing I am going to do is try to get that flash hider off so I can tighten up that loose thingy. Then get a shock buffer and op rod guide. Maybe a new stock... oh boy... this is going to add up...

Then to top it off the snow plow put up a 2 foot high wall of snow blocking in my car. Took 15 minutes to dig it out and had to go in the passenger side door to get in. Damn, Surrey sucks... :bsFlag:

Sorry Fudd, I was the second last to leave and didn't give ya a hand.

Thanx for braving the snow to get here guys, and HUGE thanx to Lazerus2000 for his knowledge and tips. Hosting this event was a tonne of fun for me. It's funny though, I had first planned this as an out of the box inspection/takedown basic mini clinic. When Lazerus2000 signed on.... it became much more than that...... and man..... I learned a tonne. You guys were all great company.
Inviting a dozen strangers..... off the internet..... into your house..... all showing up with firearms....... in surrey.....   , we should make it a monthly event :p
If any of you guys wanna schedule another day to get together and use the tools.... I'm up for it, just shoot me a p.m.
Katana..... we'll get your flash hider off. ;) and i'm 100% in for completing the dvd... great idea.

I'm messaging Laz all the cgn names from the clinic list so that you may receive a copy of the FAQ info Laz had on the papers he was passing around.
Could each one of you shoot me a quick p.m. with your email and i'll pass it on.

I also want to thank Dlask arms for hooking me and Laz up with some real nice Dlask made muzzle breaks that fit the Norinco threads on the m14s... very cool... pics coming soon

HUGE Thanx again guys

I hope so, sigh... I can't believe the amount of time we spent on it and still didn't get it off the damn barrel:runaway:

Thanks again to 45 for hosting what turned out to be a very informative afternoon. It was great to meet the names off the net.The hopitality was really something. Laz was a knowledgable instructor with unlimited patience. I learned alot of info that will be put to the test. I'm sure we got an extra 6" of snow during the lesson, which made for a delightful hour and a half white knuckle drive to the North Shore. LOL Many thanks and hope to run in to some of you guys again.Pete
45 I will pm

Many thanks to Thomas / 45 for voluntering to be the "Host with the most", and for allowing me to escape from Fantasy Island, to hang out with some pretty interesting guys, and do a little "manly" GUN stuff. After a solid month of renovations plus moving, and after spending way too much "quality time" with the wife in Home Depot, trying to match carpet colors, to tile colors, with grout colors, and paint chip colors, and curtain fabrics, I really needed some gun time to get back in touch with the masculine side of my brain, and re-adjust the testosterone levels.

I had a great time, and believe it or not, I actually learned a few new things from the crowd of M-14 enthusiasts who braved the elements to show up and share their knowledge and perspectives with the rest of us. Even though we had donuts left over, I will still call this "Wet Coast, M-14 men's only support group session" a success.

Maybe we can do more of these?
Instead of the usual introductions, like last time, we can start out with,
"Hi, my name is SoandSo, and I am a Gunaholic".

I'll be sending out the individual course notes and the course evaluatin forms to the attendees, once I get a list of their names from Thomas. I don't want to prejudice the results of the feedback, but personally, I think every one that attended got their money's worth.

But if you want a refund, or have any major complaints, you can reach me at work, through the Ministry of Extortion, and I'll send one of my Surly Auditors and his friend, Guido the Collector, to discuss your financial situation with you personally.
