New Factory Direct SAM pricing

The E-Lander mags we carry are proving to be extremely good, excellent value for money at $19.95 each.

Yes but I recall a post from Wolverine saying they won't fit the Thunderbolts magwell.....

Got myself a SAM Military 1911 .45ACP Enhanced Stainless

Convinced me to buy after I saw a youtube video from a canadian who bought from wolverine... search for "sam 1911 military a1-e"

Just ordered a Thunderbolt (first 45ACP). What mags to people recommend for this version?

Thanks for the reminder Hitzy. Due to the base plate/bumper on the E-lander mags they will not work in 1911's which are fitted with a mag well funnel like the Thunderbolt. I just checked one and I think with a little minor fitting to the mag base plate/bumper they would work but care must be taken not to overdo it.

This shows the ACT mag that is supplied with the Thunderbolt on the left and the E-lander on the right. Note the square corners on the bumper on the E-Lander mag, this makes seating them in the gun very tight as the corner interferes with the mag funnel.

This shows the ACT mag seated in the Thunderbolt.

The E-Lander mags work well with all 1911`s not equipped with mag well funnels.

For comparison, top is a Thunderbolt with the ACT mag and lower is the standard frame of a SAM 1911 E with the E-Lander mag.

I don't think that you need buy fancy named-with-people-names magazines to get a decent one. Some of my most reliable mags are no name military type ones bought from a former sponsor and some of the most flimsy feeling and dodgy ones came with my Remington R1 and STI Trojan.

I wouldn't pay more than $20-$25 for a mag, before taxes n such. I'll pick up a few elanders to try when I come out to pick up the rifle that Grumpy is getting tired of me asking "is it there yet?" Lol

I'll end up with enough mags that I'll load them at home and that will be a few hours blasting worth of ammo ;)

Correct, as with all things in this world price alone is never a guarantee of quality, although we all tend to think that quality does improve as the price of an article increases.

We certainly could but have never ordered any to date. We could look at bringing these in with a future order. They may require some minor fitting.

They really are nice magwells, same one piece design as S&A which are the only correct looking ones for a 1911

John, thanks for showing the e-lander difference. Would you be able to snap a quick picture of the Wilson 10 round mag in the Thunderbolt? Just wondering how far the mag extends from the grip.

How much for a stainless 9mm thunderbolt? you don't have anything up on your website or the first post... i've got a 45 thunderbolt and love it and pretty interested in a 9mm 1911.
