New forum idea

oh boy, noneck180 u owe me a new keyboard my friend. :D

Add me to the list of Jerry fans.

Jerry has always gone out his way to help me with any questions, and never once pushing me to buy something I didnt need...honest businessmen are few and far now days.

whats on your mind not sure what your getting at with a new keyboard??

You can type what you want, build what you want, and go shooting when you want, but you have just burnt bridges with some of the best shooters in Canada. Good Luck

dont get too ahead of yourself...I was born a farmer...I know people that shoot far better than anyone that I will ever know...they just dont need to be gratified for it

This thread and its predecessor discuss me.

I'm not too much a precision shooting guy but I enjoy reading what's being done by the guys in this sub, until this season. What's wrong with all of you? If you got arguments to settle so violently, care to do this over PM's?
This bull#### is in no mean beneficial for anyone, including those throwing knives, it just makes you look like asses. Get along or get out. Discussions are fine as long as they don't become personnal attacks, keep that for PM's please.

I've abstringed myself from CGN the last days, because I feel like a jackass with these 2000 posts, which are all legitimate question answering/asking but I just feel like it's too much. I now think twice and three times before posting, even if my comment would make sense, I just skip because I am sick of using the search button for those out there too lazy to do so. I still search for personnal knowledge, cause I want to know everything, and everything has basicly already been said.

Yes the search function works, if only people spent more time understanding the search engine and less time whining about it, there would be half the threads on this forum. If you need a hint on how to work out the search engine just PM me, I'm a master of it.

I all invite you to reread CGN rules and guidelines, grab a drink and cool your heads off.
I rarely give my opinion, but that needed to come out.

" guys strating out with their lowly pencil barrels and Savage actions until they learn the sport."

"mods may have to strat coming down on a few guys."

for instance...baiting savage shooters?

Those precision guys that spend $7500 on the latest custom long-range rig are peeved that the Savage guys out shoot them with a $1000 rig....:nest::dancingbanana::kickInTheNuts:

hey Obtunded...y do you think that you are a God of precision shooting...i have news for you...i have a God and he is is the only one i believe there is and will ever be, and thats not you...and i offer my opinion basically never and am being called out just because you arent man enough to accept that there may be someone who knows more than you...that would be my Grampa btw! and promoting precision shooting you are not...you turned me away from it and i am the future of the sport...you killed it...nothing more nothing less

Hiding behind the safety and anonymity of an internet forum where nobody knows your name, your age, or your resume. Grampa would be proud of you.

You have access to my phone number. Why don't you give me call and at least have the balls to spew your invectives, in person, like a man?

Failing that, as you have no interest in the sport, why don't you go find another place to hang? I pay to sponsor this site. If you want to crap on someone's carpet, go crap on your own. I

Wow is February pissy month or what? Everyone slagging everyone. Maybe if all a person is going to do is get pissy you should stay off the forums. Obtunded - keep promoting shooting sports in BC, Jerry - keep on promoting your business. Both of you have some actual info to pass along. I joined this forum as it was a good place to get some information from guys who actually shoot rifles and not just surf the net and read about rifles. Now it seems that no matter what you would like to discuss your about to start a net fight with someone with no real input on the topic at all.

Add me to the list of F-Class shooters who have been helped and encouraged by Ian and Jerry. And by many others as well.
I'm seeing only 2 people in this thread whose behavior I find unacceptable, but that's not a problem: both of them are now on ignore.
Seriously folks, the ignore feature is there for the purpose of making your CGN experience a better one. Use it.

Precision

Wow, this is the reason I don't need to watch soaps like the wife does,,,, I just come in here.

It's taken so long to read nine pages of posts I've probably forgotten some of them but here goes.

Ian R. is right the proof is on the paper, I currently have a rig worth over 5K and use it to shoot long range matches, it works very well.

I started out with a used Ruger in an odball caliber and for the 1100 I spent on it it shot very well too , but wasn't built for really long range.

As for the bulls#$% about you can't win with lesser priced equipment that just what it is... b.s. I have a big dollar rig because it's a "purpose built unit" It's no good for hunting, its too heavy to carry around it's only good for putting holes in paper a long way away.

Related to cars it's a Ferrari of the sport.
but
What I drive is a 4 Dr. F-150 and i'll out race a Ferrari every time if I get to pick the race course. Try getting to the 700 acres of crown land we have with the Ferrari and you,ll see.

Multi purpose equipment , wether is cars or guns is just that, multi purpose and won't be as good as specific units built for specific goals. This is typically where most people start their shooting with multi purpose tools and learn to upgrade them towards specif goals which will be different for everyone.

I've shot fantastic targets with a Remington based rifle and I've built a few on custom pieces they've all had their plusses and minuses, I've gone to a 1000 yard match with my big $ piece and got my a$$ handed to me by a guy with a factory Savage and a Leup scope (thanks bob, laff) , because he's a damn good shooter and was on the ball that day right down to his technique and his reloading skills. He's the reason I just got my older boy a Brand New Savage to get him started in F-Class this year , he didn't have available funds to built something specific but we wanted a good reliable piece that will shoot very well, I don't care who's name is on the equipment if it works , it works. The proof is on the paper.
Cheap and Precision CAN go in the same sentance.

KDX, nice shooting man, that is very precise... keep it up.

As quoted before "performance not cost"

X2 Noneck180, laff. I feel better too.

As for Obtunded (Ian) and Jerry.... laff..... those two work their a$$'s off for the shooting community.
As for our Ottawa based pesimist if there were shooting Gods Ian would be a consideration for the group, he's a fantastic shooter with the experience and match wins to back that up. I suggest you show up at the matches , beat him, THEN , tell him he's no good for the sport. Just cause he might have hurt your feelings it doesn't make him a bad shooter, it probably just makes him honest.

There are people here with huge amounts of experience and knowledge and newer shooters would be better off to listen to the voice of experience , you can't shooter for 20-30 yrs and not learn something.

Guys like Ian R. likely have more experience than almost any 2-3 shooters combined in this thread. Unfortunatly alot of the top experienced guys don't get into this type of conversation due to the b.s. and bashing that goes on which means the newer guys are missing out on alot of good advice.

And as mentioned before being able to type doesn't make you a good shooter.

Get out, get shooting, have fun. Buy the best that you can afford and work your way up like all of us had to do.

What a Remington can do...

Also what a Remington can do (unfired)

Well said Ice pick. I haven't the time to follow all the drama or even most of the 10+ page threads, but what you said is true of alot of us. We all start somewhere, I doubt there is many of the BR guys here that can say their first gun was a true BR gun.

Conversly, I think that one must also realize that it takes a certain personality to sit at a bench for 5 hours measuring the ogee's on a 500 box of SMK's, sorting them for accuracy. I used to think I was that sort of accuracy shooter, now if I'm printing 3" groups @ 4-600 yds, I'm happy.
Not that I don't enjoy shooting & wouldn't love a nice BR rig chambered in 243 AI or 6.5-284 that shoots 1/4 MOA all day, it just isn't as high up my priority list as other things.

My easily packable Rem 700's, that have been accurized, are lots of fun to shoot and while they may not quite have the accuracy potential of a BAT, Lawton or other precision actions, there is no guarantee I'd be able to shoot better with a BR rig due to time constraints. I may find out later on in life when I've got time to spend hours at it, but that has yet to be seen.

I think perhaps a BR forum with a sub for reloading may be in order, but it will not likely be the most well used forum.
