I agree with "ihunttoomuch" ,s inquiry maybe there should be a forum for the rimfire handguns. It seems like the rimfire section is there for rifles. I tried a posting there with no success as well.

I hope this does not violate any rules, if so, I'm sorry. Site Admin: feel free to delete this post if I am in violation. thanks ...Rick...

My question.

I came across a Hi-Standard G.E. the other day and was wondering what kind of value it has. Appears to be in very good shape , comes with Roper grips and stock walnut as well. 4 3/4" and 6 3/4" barrels. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks ...Rick...

I agree, a rim fire pistols forum is a great idea, it should almost have it's own category in the EE as well, it's would would stop the rim fire pistols being posted in both rim fire and pistols and revolvers

I'm for it, as well as having a separate section in the EE. Either that, or make it clear that Pistol supersedes Rimfire, or vice versa.

Careful about the responses you get; what you *think* is encouraging replies from like-minded shooters, could just be the .45 calibre big boys telling you to take your little kid toys else-where!

How do you envision this new forum? Pricey and finicky Hämmerli competition guns, cheap plinkers and knock-offs, conversion kits on modern service pistols, all welcome and mixed together? There doesn't seem to be any specific spot here that deals with classic target shooting (ISSF, Olympics, &c.); perhaps a place for the Euro pistol AND rifle snobs to gather is another way?

I do think there is a lack of clarity in the EE whether a Norinco M93 belongs in Pistols or RF.

I'm okay with leaving as is... Usually check both forums anyway and would rather not include a third (or is that nth) forum as it is.

this forum should be big & tough enough to handle rim fire , after all most everybody has/had @ least 1 , if the rim guys are a little shy that's their prob .

There is already a section for rimfires. There is already a section for pistols. Tell me again why we need a third option?

To stop the confusion of rimfire pistols scattered across multiple forums. I don't understand why people think this would be a bad idea? It's clears up pistol and revolver forums as well as rimfire rifle. It will grant easier access to rimfire pistol knowledge questions and sales, without having to search through a ton of clutter.

Maybe we also need a subforum exclusively for the 9mm pistols then. And one for the 45s. Actually, lets divide it further and make one for revolvers, and one for semis. Perhaps we should also differentiate the double stacks from the single stacks. maybe by brand as well?

You know, so people don't have to search through a ton of clutter...

For one simple reason. You think that by doing this, you'd finally have one definite option for rimfire pistols. While the reality is, you are only creating a THIRD section where people are going to post about these pistols. So itll scatter the subject even further.

If you ask me, there's already too many subsections on CGN as it is.

It seems like I have generated a bit of interest in a new forum, I guess we will leave the final decision up to the site mods , I didn't mean to ruffle any feathers, or cause hard feelings. Just as an example tho, I did receive an answer to my Hi Standard value question, I have now joined "RimfireCentral" south of the 49th. and they specialize in questions regarding rimfires. Thanks for your opinions. Rick...

Dude, your thread has a grand total of 19 replies including this one, with about half/half in agreement/disagreement. Trust me, you're still very far from "the bit of interest" that would get CGN admin to even pay attention. ;)
