New from North Sylva!!! Non restricted M1 Carbines!!!

I'm under the impression that .30 cal isnt great, in terms of its ballistics .

On the other hand the m1 carbine has a combat history and heritage the mini14 will never have.

Given good expanding bullets, the .30 Carbine can be a respectable performer:

I hope that these new carbines are better than previous ones built for the commercial market.

The Carbine is a neat little gun, probably the ultimate truck gun, in non-restricted form. The funny thing is you don't realize how good they really are until you use one. Slightly more power than a 357 mag, with better penetration, and an absolute joy to shoot. A good one (we can probably assume new is good) can also surprise you with it's accuracy, even at 200 yards. Canada Ammo had some steel case ammo not too long ago at 9mm prices, lets hope they can get more.

Very nice. I wish the origanal M1 carbines had just a bit longer barrel.

Actually I think they based the restricted status on the carbine using it as the standard for being restricted. It even says in the law barrels with a length under 18" like the M1 Carbine. I really don't know why they had such a hate on for the little guy.

Back in the 70s the gun control flavour of the moment was bank robberies in Montreal. The police said M1 Carbines were turning up in connection and thus the "evil" M1 Carbine had to be restricted and it became the benchmark of evil for the day.

There are thousands of Carbine mags out there - they stayed up nights making them between 1943 and 1953. there are also repros and new production out of South Africa, and the US - they come in 5, 5/15, and 5/30 flavours.

About time. We need more non-res M1 carbines on the market just to spite Pierre Trudeau. (He's the one to thank for the law that made most M1 carbines restricted to begin with.)

Definitely adding one of these to my wish list. They remind me of the mini 14, but smaller and lighter overall.
