get some double boiled linseed oil from crappy tire and should do nicely.

TruOil works like magic. I just did my stock and the grain came up beautifully.

I own both. I switched receivers and trigger mechanisms back and forth.

The answer is "Yes".

NICE - they have a winner once people figure out how useful the carbine is. Now if only I could get NS to bring in some barrels, that would be perfect.

If it shoots too high, you need a higher front sight, not a lower one.

Most rifles intended for battle with limited or fixed elevation in their rear sights, tend to strike high at closer ranges most people normally shoot(50-100yds or less, good pistol distance). Better high than low. Look at any silhouette target and see why high is good. Allows someone unable through stress or fog of battle to obtain hits on a target with a low center hold at most distance he can see a target, but doesn't have time to range. Any hit is a good hit in Battle.
If these carbines have copied the original M-1 sights to a letter, this is probably why.
You may try different ammo, though I'm sure most loads with the 110grFMJ's will probably shoot to approx same zero. You can look for a higher front sight to tailor the zero to your load of choice for POA hits, or just be happy with a six o'clock hold on a 12" bull and see them fall in the center, or high center. Windage error is alot more detrimental to a battle rifle than a nice high, but perfectly centered zero.

Definately interested! I don't suppose anyone can get a source for the "Paratrooper" stock? ( I know the US won't let these out of country if they come with these stocks)

mine just showed up, can anyone else that got one please comment on the reciever to stock fit, are they supposed to be sloppy and wiggle? also they do not come with the oiler in the stock so how the hell do you attach a sling to this thing now, would have been nice to now these details from NS before i got one. this thing just might be headed back to the store, for the cost of these not very impressed at all!
