So who has received theirs already? Mine showed up today. Quite a strange gun, but really quite neat. I look forward to getting it apart.
How was the bore on your Gevarm. I received mine today and the bore is rather pitted. I am a little disappointed to say the least as it was advertised as new in box (old stock). It looks like it was simply stored improperly.
Thanks to nntw's manuals, I have removed the bolt and spring... I have difficulty believing that this rifle is 30 years old!
These rifles don't even appear to have been test fired. There isn't a sctratch or sign of wear of any sort on any of the internal surfaces. Looks like it was machined last week.
Surface rust is NORMAL after having sat 30-40 years in some warehouse in France.
I don't know HOW Tradex found these rifles, but if they ever find any more, I will pony up for a dozen. To find a NIB Gevarm in 2011 is unthinkable... and for $329 to boot, but it happened!
You guys are going to flip when you get them. lol
I noticed that part when I stripped it down. I didn't know you could install it differently....I put it back in so it acted as a spring guide and if it went in the other way it would compress the spring more so I'm pretty sure it's in the weaker position now. I will check this again though....
Federal bulk and CCI mini mags are not weak.
The WGP mags seemed to feed fine and the way the follower sits up a bit higher it actually blocks the last shot from slamming home empty.
Cantom how far does a Gevarm typically throw the empties? Mine were just clearing the action by an inch or two .....
