New Glock 48 coming in January?

1. Canada legal barrel, no pinocchio look.
2. 10 round magazine.
3. Much thinner profile
4. slim grip that works well for people with smaller hands
5. good trigger.

I really like this. I may ditch my Bowie Tactical Glock 19's for this.

I'd really like to know why they decided on a 106mm barrel... Can't be specifically for Canada and its fairly small market?

Not dissing them for doing it, simply EXTREMELY curious.

They've actually kept the slide length exactly the same as a G19 (185mm), but from what I've read, because the striker assembly is a bit shorter in the single stack guns they've been able to make the barrel a few mms longer. I'd be very surprised if Canadian laws had anything to do with it, but the fact that it's exactly 106mm is pretty cool!

Great gun for concealed carry in places that permit it. With a much slimmer profile, it'll print far less than a 19. And of course since every Canadian Glock is a single stack, this one is a much more logical choice in this country. I'm interested.

Slim or not, with standard length grip it will print about the same as a g19, which is to say lots, or not at all, depending on how you wear it.

^^^Can I join you? :)

I'm sure they will have them at ShotShow. I'll be there. Will you?

FWIW, the pictures of the guns are apparently fake. The specs may be real but the pictures are not, or so some on the Internet say. I'm waiting to see what is announced at SHOT 2019. Interested in the G48.

I doubt Glock used fake pictures on the Glock website. Pretty sure they would have the real thing.

Sure hope that new Glock gets to Canada before we get CCW privileges.
As long as we CCW privileges, I could care less when the gun gets here.

Never been into glocks... but this ones caught my attention.

yeah it did get my attention, but then so did the G19.

Barely lighter than the Sig 320, and its probably just a matter of time before Sig comes out with a slim 320 to compete with the G43/48.

Canadian legal Glock optomized for CCW is nice, but then the G19 is legal on both sides of the border and down south you can have adult capacity magazines. All we are really talking about here is a full sized pistol with a compact magazine capacity.

I wonder how long it will take for the holsters & mag pouches to gain popularity? Sure the 43 Holster will work but u may want a little longer cover for the slide..

The g19 is already lighter than the p320. And a "slim" 320 will take sales away from the sig p365. This is around 7 oz lighter than the sig offering.

And a slightly slimmer profile would definitely gain a certain degree of preference from the people that complain about how 19 "feels" capturing a bigger portion of the market. And a 19 isn't hard to conceal so this would be easier still. Small dimensional changes can have a more drastic effect on printing. Not that any of that has any relevance here.

For the most part i imagine this will alleviate a lot of the whining you get from some people about its "feel"

And hopefully the price undercuts the 19.

Fair points. The 365 isn't really a competitor for the 48 though, on account of barrel length. If they had a 365 with a Canadian legal barrel length then we would be talking apples to apples, and I'd definitely go with the 365.

As for price. In the grand scheme of thousands of rounds I will put through the barrel, $50 on the sticker price, even $200 on sticker price, doesn't really matter much if its the right gun.

Those light weight skinny guns are mostly just for summer carry anyways. I could carry an 870 and not worry about printing under my parka.

This is the SD9 VE’s better looking sister!

i think anyone with a Glock 19 shouldn’t rush out to get one, but for those of us that don’t have a 19 ...... well, let’s see about price, but I expect it to not be cheap. Apparently, I have Glock hands and even the finger grooves haven’t bothered me in the least when I had a chance to try those models .... I’m not sure I’d like a thinner grip.

i can see a lot of reasons people might like these; some people brought up the 1911 commanders, but I have short fingers and the mag release is kind of far on 1911’s for me. I have fat hands and fingers though and the short gripped Glocks wouldn’t give me a full grip .... this could be a Goldilocks size for some people. Plus, ten round mags are good for people who are not in free states or are in Canada lol.

Sootch00 missed a few other advantages of the Glock 19 though; they fit the long extended mags (not that that matters to Canadians), they fit Glock 17 mags, they are backwards compatible for mags, and some of the mags fit many pistol caliber carbines.

Huh. Smaller grip might work for my small-handed wife. So far the only handgun I own that she's comfortable with is my old FN1922. Looking forward to trying one of these new Glocks in person.
