New hunt camp Bancroft

This is true, there are parts of the property I have not seen yet, this is rough terrain. I spent 2 years building access roads and still difficult to access.

Agreed. My hunting buddies friend has thousands of acres only a few minutes south of you and it’s only for hunting. His terrain is as you describe yours and he has some serious tree damage from the same storm that affected your property. He has a construction company and deep pockets and he hired a logging company to do his cleanup. It will be expensive.

My friend did the Heli survey of his property and a very large neighbouring property after the storm.

Our hunting area is around an hour and a half south of yours and similar terrain. No “glassing” and not much opportunity for longer range shooting around these parts.

Me I'd figure 100 acres per man. Speaking from a hunters perspective. A stand hunter is going to want to move stands now and then, and not disturb anyone else doing it.

850 acres is small for a camp that uses dogs regardless of the number in the camp. Years back when I did that, the territory we covered would be easily 2000 acres, seperated in spots we had to drive to.

Don't forget to talk to your insurance company.

As to the wood. Lots ofguys will take that on, but their idea of a days work and yours might be a bit different. They will be looking at the cleanup from a hunting perspective, and what's good for them, may not be what you want. You may have to take the clean up on a bit of a time. Talk to local loggers, but you may find they are not interested in fallen trees. Go to a big firewood lot, and ask there. They will know who to ask re firewood cutting.
