New Israeli HGs on Marstar site

[Canucklehead]: we fit the gun with tritium sights before it leaves the shop.

[Musky]: yeah, for $699.00 finding ANY new (non-Norinco) 1911 is next to impossible. Just add up all the 'goodies' by themselves as though you were ordering them from Brownell's or elsewhere:

- snag-free high profile front and rear sights
- 'skeletonized' oval hammer
- lightweight 'skeletonized' trigger tuned to 3.5-4.0lbs
- ‘no bushing’ cone-type stainless steel match grade ramped heavy barrel*
- full-length recoil spring guide
- extended safety
- contoured high profile stainless beavertail grip safety
- flat checkered mainspring housing

* to be fair the slide won't be included in the above list since a regular profile stainless match barrel could be in the theoretical shopping list instead.

How much would just those parts cost? It would be extremely difficult to add all that to even a Norinco 1911A1 or NP-30 double stack - let alone a base model 1911A1 from a Canadian or American company! - without going over budget. That's before taking into account the BUL Gov't is made by a company with a significant amount of top-level competition proven expertise.

It was mentioned by someone else that when the words "firearm" and "Israeli made" are mentioned in the same sentence you know what they're talking about works every time you pull the trigger!

Hope this helps,

- Peter

Is anybody aware of any recent reviews of the BUL Transmark 1911's in one of the gun rags? I'd like to do my homework before spending my hard earned dollars...

Thanks,

Scott

i can speak from experience on this one.
I own the charles daly m5 goverment which is made by bul industrys for them.
I got to take a good look at the bull m5 and piece by piece it is literally the exact same gun. And a great gun at that.
Ive put over 1500 rounds through mine and never had a problem. A great 1911 well worth the price. Quick question for marstar though will the extra mags ur selling for the bul m5 work in the daly m5 i dont see why not since everything else is literally identical piece for piece im asking cause i need some mags lol

Yes, the BUL M5 magazines should work fine in the Charles Daly guns made by BUL. I look forward to reading more reviews as more members receive and use their M5 and Storm series handguns.

Peter,
just wondering if the basic model is availiable in 38super, or do you think modifying the 9mm to super is feasible? want to use it as base for a race gun?

From Saul web site this is what he used for mag's
Magazines, springs followers
BUL's "Poli-Chrome" mag tubes. Arredondo Followers and Springs

Has anyone bought one of the "storm" series yet? dose anyone know how they stack up to a CZ75?

Cheers,
BCtrigger

Bul Pistols - Parts Interchange

Parts interchanage BUL Pistols. looks like a great product and I am really interested. Can you tell me will stock 1911 parts interchange with these? My concern is repairs and maintenance. If I can't fix it I don't want to buy it. Especially a gun I can't get parts for and maintain myself.

:)

I've a Bul M5 IPSC model in .38 super here in Australia, it's my second Bul firearm.

It came with STI magazines, as Bul did not make 10 round .38 super mags.

Reliability has been one hundred percent, I've shot the thing with PMC 130 grain and 115 grain ammo as well as winchester silvertips. It's failed to jam even when only held with one finger and thumb on the grip.

Four of the 10 shooters who have tried it have purchased the same gun.

Accuracy is good, 35mm for five rounds at 25 metres. Even a complete novice can shoot it into an inch at 15 metres.

Sites are LPA adjustables, the mag well is aluminium and is getting a bit nicked, but still does the job of centering your grip and guiding mag changes.

Trigger pull is slightly variable, from 3 pound 1 ounce to 3.5 pounds on my Lyman digital scale.

The STI magazines had to be modified on their feed lips and a little metal polished off the rear to ensure function, this was done by the Australian distributor prior to delivery. If Marstar are offering Bul manufactured mags, this should not be a problem.

I have a spare barrel in 9mm which has proved quite accurate (1.5 inches at 15m for five shots standing) but I personally prefer .38 super in the 1911 style guns, so it dosn't see much use.

The grip feels slightly thinner than a Para Ordnance, but is relatively square at the front.

I am more than happy with the gun. It's not an STI Edge, but it's a thousand dollars cheaper and I mainly shoot in Production, so it fullfilled my need for a high quality Standard gun at a reasonable price. Bill Wood, the Australian IPSC grading officer has placed in the top three at the Australian Nationals with a Bul on several occasions. Prior to .40 cal being banned in Australia, one of my friends had over 20,000 rounds through his stock IPSC model with no breakages.

As for pricing. Marstars IPSC models convert dollar for dollar to the Australian price. Their Govt models are 40% cheaper than the Australian price. Get em while you can.

Currently Bul are supposed to be making all of their parts, previously they supposed to be using Chip McCormick (sp?) internals and Kimber slides. Don't hold me to that however, as it's range gossip.

In summary it's a great gun and great value for money.

Rescomp, the maker of the CR Speed holster, made a mag catch so Para mags could be used. i don't know if it's still in production or if it fits the current Bul frame.
