[Canucklehead]: we fit the gun with tritium sights before it leaves the shop.
[Musky]: yeah, for $699.00 finding ANY new (non-Norinco) 1911 is next to impossible. Just add up all the 'goodies' by themselves as though you were ordering them from Brownell's or elsewhere:
- snag-free high profile front and rear sights
- 'skeletonized' oval hammer
- lightweight 'skeletonized' trigger tuned to 3.5-4.0lbs
- ‘no bushing’ cone-type stainless steel match grade ramped heavy barrel*
- full-length recoil spring guide
- extended safety
- contoured high profile stainless beavertail grip safety
- flat checkered mainspring housing
* to be fair the slide won't be included in the above list since a regular profile stainless match barrel could be in the theoretical shopping list instead.
How much would just those parts cost? It would be extremely difficult to add all that to even a Norinco 1911A1 or NP-30 double stack - let alone a base model 1911A1 from a Canadian or American company! - without going over budget. That's before taking into account the BUL Gov't is made by a company with a significant amount of top-level competition proven expertise.
It was mentioned by someone else that when the words "firearm" and "Israeli made" are mentioned in the same sentence you know what they're talking about works every time you pull the trigger!
Hope this helps,
- Peter
