NEW ITEM: Dominion Arms Socom 18

Quick question. What sort of accuracy should I expect out of one of these if I was to buy one.
Assuming match ammo or handloads and a better stock.

Using a 22" M305 I've been averaging 1.7" 5 shot groups over the last 200 rounds. YMMV.

That's rather impressive. Debating between a DMR style rifle in .223 or .308, and I really can't decide. So many choices and not enough money.

I have to admit that I have a fair amount into my rifle and am still trying to improve the accuracy. My tweaks have finally gotten my consistency to a level where I am happy although I'm still trying to squeeze the average group size. The M305 is great if you like to tweak and reload - investing gradually over time. If you want an out-of-the-box, accurate, DMR-ish semi I'd look elsewhere - 20" hbar AR if you are willing to go Restricted maybe (have seen these do 1/2 inch groups at 100 - had me coveting one of these).

The downside of the M305 is that it is a fun platform and 308 is expensive to shoot, even if reloading. I've put way more cash down range than I will ever sink into the rifle. I think this goes for almost any gun.

Go for it, you know you want to...LOL.

curious, think we will ever see a

Dominion Arms Socom *16* carbine

perhaps with the rail like the springfield?

curious. I heard it was a good CQC gun with a 4* acog and whatnot...... so for me that = good bush gun for deer hunting :)

the current DA socom already gives you similar dimensions, but without functioning muzzle device, just add the scope mount

wont be hunting with a 16" anywhere

I hunt with my 12.5 inchbarrel now....... DA grizzly shotgun.....

guess i'd best go re-read the exact definitions of non restricted and restricted........ i was thinking having an over all length of ...oh what was it...2 feet ish, and a barrel length of ??? I cant remember but I have a 12.5 inch so thats NR....

I just assumed 16 inch would be legit.

ill go look

Yah semi vs manual action regs...

Will the Checkmate m1A/M14 25 rd mags fit in these. They don't fit in my Norc m305...:). Why the smile? Cause that means I need to buy either the scout m1a, or this little beauty to fit my new mags.

The Dominion Arms Socom 18 is chambered in 7.62x51 Nato.

You can safely shoot 308 in a firearm chambered for 7.62x51.

You can shoot 7.62x51 in a firearm chambered for 308 but it would be unsafe. Ie. It could explode in your hands.

My Shorty with XS sights, SA flash hider, Sadlak guide rod, Wolff return spring, Promag extended mag catch, done Brownells Alumi-hyde Coyote and Dark earth. I got this beauty from CanAm last year and very pleased with it, unlike the Socom that I returned.

Me likey! Clarity on the painted stock though please; did you send the stock to Brownells for paint or you got the paint from there & did it yourself? Looks pretty much like what I would like to do with mine.
