Done went and bought me a new 14 X 40 lathe, made in Taiwan. First new lathe I have ever had and what a sweet machine it is going to be. I'm like a giddy school girl on her first date............Went to town today to get all the right oils to oil her up with, and some brakeclean to wipe all the anti-rust crap off with. She's a little chunky at nearly 2000 lbs, but hey some girls are better heavy than light. New ones of these are made in China but this girl is old stock and made in Taiwan. I talked at length with Ralf Martini this weekend and he highly recommended the Taiwanese lathes, that's what he said he uses. Bought a bunch of tooling as well. so as soon as I get her set in place and rolling I'm going to be rechambering my 700 Custom 458 to the 450 Douglas Express (Ruger Imp 40 deg) Then I have to thread and chamber up my new twist 22-284 barrel..............life is good again !!!
