Well my new toy arrived in the mail today. I got the mag disconnect model to avoid the scribble on the frame.

Well understand it is -10C and the wind is running about 25- miles an hour. Blowing snow. Colder than the hobs of hell.

I went out with my new toy. Fired 10 rds Remington UMC 147 gr of Factory and 10 rds of my 125 gr re-loads 4.1 gr 231.

Blew out a 2" circle at 10 yards from a rest. Gun functioned just fine. Jumped into truck and came home.

Weather here is supposed to warm up to 0C next week and rain. Will be out to fire off 200 rds once it warms.

Trigger break feels like around 5 lbs. Small take up then let off is crisp. Obviously didn't do any rapid fire yet. Used the medium palm swell, will try the small one next time. Recoil is obviously more than the 1911 Trojan but easily controllable. Should work well playing the IDPA game in SSP Division.

Very happy. For the right handed shooters have you tried having the mag release on the right side so you can depress with your index finger? I have mine on the left just because I am used to it there but I am wondering if it may be faster using the index finger to relese the mag as opposed to using your thumb on the left.

Fit and finish looks great, altogether a very nice package.

Take care

Bob

Mag release on the right is the way to go, for me. I wish I could get one for the 1911. Much quicker (once you've adjusted) and impossible to get DQ'd for a finger violation if you're competing.

Why not just install an ambi release ? Smith and Alexander makes one that I used on a couple of my 1911's as I prefer to dump the mag with my trigger finger as well.

Yea mine was a long wait too...four hours to complete the transfer and then TWO days for the Post Office to get it here. And they voted the Liberals back into power provincially!

I have owned one for almost a year and I love it. Although there is some reported problems I beleive that S+W has them all worked out. I would recommend the gun to anyone. If I were you I would check out M+P pistol.com and if you do have any questions forward them to Dan Burwell as he is the "expert" on these firearms.

Yeah, but when it comes to guns, BC Liberals are the only Liberals to have. Actually, even the NDP here isn't stupid enough (yet) to go "anti-gun" too many union members hunting and shooting. :D

ian_in_vic I was referring to Ontario. Hell our Liberals are a collection of Conservatives, Social Credit and ticked off Liberals and a few true Liberals.

Better what we got than the NDP. James is scary stupid. Glen Clark with PMS!

Yeah M&P is a great gun, mine has been 100%! I've said many times why would someone buy a Glock when they can have M&P... But for some reason I'm trying to trade mine for Glock 20  someone must've poured some Cool-aid in my coffee!

Becoming Popular

The S&W people finally got their polymer gun right. The M&P is becoming very popular. Here at my end, a team of girl/guy put together an order for 13 M&P's. C$575.00!
Holsters are the next big thing. Everybody needs one. Hope I can convince some of these fine persons to come out next summer and shoot PPC with me.
